Re: i know this is a embrassing questionn but i need help!

aren't contraceptives considered haraam by maulvis?

Interesting how an American raised girl (assuming) would want a traditional Pakistani mian bhai.

Re: i know this is a embrassing questionn but i need help!

Not all.

Re: i know this is a embrassing questionn but i need help!

Be safety conscious. 80% of people are caused by accidents. :mocking:

Re: i know this is a embrassing questionn but i need help!

There is something called a contraceptive injection - you don't have to take your pill on the wedding day or talk to your husband about condoms - it prevents you from getting pregnant for around 8-12 weeks. Once you are comfortable with your husband, you can start discussing other types of contraception. Consult your doctor about it.

Re: i know this is a embrassing questionn but i need help!

Because you’re religious, decent and unmarried.

Re: i know this is a embrassing questionn but i need help!

but similar things (not the current issue) are discussed and taught in Quran too... which means? :)

Re: i know this is a embrassing questionn but i need help!

almost sounds like she had no choice in that decision. But don't let me start any conspiracy theories here.

Re: i know this is a embrassing questionn but i need help!

its the depo-provera shot and it is NOTORIOUS for causing weight gain. i put on 20lbs and it was NOT pleasant! i would really not recommend it just before she gets married.

as for contraceptives being haram, from what i’ve read, its haram once you’ve conceived because then you’re interfering with a life that already exists.
prior to that, you can go ahead and protect yourself any way you want to in order to not get pregnant. on a sidenote- maulvi’s should really enlighten themselves more and take into consideration the problem of over-population and parents being unable to provide for their many children before they start preaching.

Re: i know this is a embrassing questionn but i need help!

Re: i know this is a embrassing questionn but i need help!

Yes I too have heard about huge amounts of weight gain from the injections. Plus it almost stops menstrual flow…does not sound good at all.

Re: i know this is a embrassing questionn but i need help!

yeah but i've seen with my friend that sometimes, it doesn't... sometimes, aunt flo decides to move in permanently. for months at a time. its horrid!

Re: i know this is a embrassing questionn but i need help!

Yes in a very modest way.

The thread opener is clever enough to use internet but so naive to do some research before asking the question. Look what I found just by typing "condoms in Pakistan" in google search.

Male members of Pakistan’s National Assembly and Senate received a unique gift from the Ministry of Population Welfare ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr - a packet of 100 condoms.
The move, however, earned the ire of some opposition parliamentarians, who have taken it as an insult and plan to take it up with National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussian.
The distribution of the condoms was part of a “bid to encourage population control at the top level”, according to news reports.
“Yes, the condom packs have been distributed among the male parliamentarians. Each MP has been gifted a pack of condoms containing 100 condoms,” an unnamed official of the ministry of population welfare was quoted as saying.
A lawmaker, who did not want to be named, said he would take up the matter with the Speaker and file a privilege motion if need be.
