It has never been so bad for Pakistan. We have had dictators before. But none of them, even Zia ul-Haq, the man responsible for much of the woes of Pakistan including the Taleban and jihadism, had not made criticizing him a capital offense. Musharraf has done that. How can criticizing an individual and his policies be treason? We have heard of this only in communist dictatorships. Now we hear it from a man, marketed by the leading democracies of the world as the savior to bring us pure democracy.

Throwing a 25 ton nuclear bomb on Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, cannot affect the masses as much as our media can. Mr. Shahid masood, Mr. Talat Hussain, and Mr. Hamid mir free media does not mean irresponsible media. The main objective of media is to work for the solidarity and national interest of the country not to question the writ of the state and agitate the common man to pick up arms against the government.
For example! Look at the country that is the torch bearer of the free world and free media, USA! to date the USA’s Free media has not and will not prove bush’s “War on terror “ totally absurd, They will never show American soldiers dieing in Iraq, Why! Because they want USA to prevail over the world and prosper.
Look at our media, on one hand Mr. Shahid Masood is churning loads of speculations, rumors, and conspiracy theories on a break neck speed. On the other hand Mr. Talat is doubting a general of the Pakistani Army in the Lal Mosque and telling the people that the arms we see here can be planted by the Pakistani Army and are not the arms found with the religious terrorists of Lal mosque.
I question you pseudo intellectuals of the Pakistani Media, the free media of Pakistan!! Are you people hell bent upon getting the nation against the security forces, the government, and the army? Knowing that you have a vast following because 90 % of the nation is emotional and illiterate, who cannot sieve through the crap that you people produce on a constant level, do you want this country totally decimated?
Mr. Shahid, and Mr. Talat, both of you have bloody hands, not only from the Lal Mosque but the recent bombings in swat and D I Khan because of your inflammatory enticing propaganda against the government and the army.
May God have mercy on your souls.

Lack of knowledge, poor communication skills, non-articulate thought process, un-professional interviewing tactics, sensationalizing news, and being deficient in exposure are all the ingredients you need to produce a bad journalist like Mr. Hamid Mir.
I think Mr. Mir should go back to writing “Teen aurtain aur teen kahania” for “Ikhbar-e-jahan”.
