I have fallen for someone who is 11 years my senior

Re: HELP WANTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think what you're experiencing now is an infatuation. It's natural for us to be attracted and intrigued by others, and to feel good/special when they show similar interest. Sometimes we confuse this with love and lust. At the moment, I think you've met someone new online and like chatting with him. It may be fun to flirt and imagine a fanciful life together, but be careful. You are too young to be making lifelong decisions at the moment. As lifeless said, you'll be over him soon. Or perhaps he will remain a friend or a nice memorable person in your life. But not necessarily someone to spend you life with.

I'm actually pretty shocked by some of the responses in this thread. You need to be careful when advising someone, especially when it is someone impressionable and young who is talking about developing strong feelings for someone who is significantly older and practically a stranger. I'm not saying he's a bad guy, but he's mentally and emotionally in a different place than Aisha.

It might be fun to think about cliche'd examples of some sort of idealistic love, but the real world doesn't work that way.

Please be careful.

Aisha, take some time to try out new things, get an education, explore your interests and ambitions. As you grow a bit older, if you still feel like it is worth pursuing a relationship with this guy and he seems to be someone reliable, perhaps you can pursue it. Not now.
