well unfortunately with Pakistanis, i think we have mixed culture and religion so much that we dun even kno the difference anymore. it's sad. i think it is the parents' responsibility to educate their daughters enuf so they always have something to fall back on and are not dependent on a man to make money. money is not everything, it's not the key to happiness. personally i think for a marrige to be successful u have to be friends with ur spouse, be comfortable with them, u kno. many things in this world r unfair :( yes joriyan asmanon mein banti hain lekin they also say that aap apni haathon ki lakeerein khud likhtey ho.

crescent perhaps when u have a daughter of your own InshAllah.... you will see things differently. "Love doesnt pay the bills" is what parents tell their kids. However once again... forcing your child and guiding them are two entirely different things. Unfortunately parents dont get that.
Like Sara said.....having moneu is great and it does help one live a comfortable life but it shouldnt be the only thing a person looks for in a spouse or partner for their child. Money only helps get you through in this Duniya....not in the hereafter.

My sister went to pak recently and found that many of these girls you are talking bout…dont even mind. They told her…“look at the life im living…fancy car, house, prada shoes, purses etc etc…who cares if they are cheating or old enough to be my father”…im not kidding this is what they told her!!

I agree..its worse when they take the family abroad for a better life and let the girls grow there with a degree of breathing room and freedom, only to freak out when the girls do show signs of independent thought and hitch them off to family member back home against either bride or grooms will... its showing a caged bird an open door and slamming it shut right when it takes up the invite and sticks its little head out

I saw a movie about that, that a family who was'nt rich sell their daughter
to a rich men but she doesnt wanna marry that guy he was also much much
older and she had a bf and stuff. But with magic (kalaa jadoo) the mom succeed to marry her daughter off with that rich guy.
In that movie was Samita patel and Nasseerdin shah or somethin.

I saw a movie "Kabhi Alwida Na Kehna" (They also merry their daughter to a rich family), in which, you can clearly see that if there's no understanding then it's useless to merry that person.
