If you want compliment from your MIL tell her she looks like jannat key hoor and work on making her one by feeding her nihari , paya , biryani , shahi tukary everyday , she will be jannat key hoor shortly and you will live happily ever after.
If you give her compliments , she will give you one , try it.

rida ur post really made me feel sad... sad that u have so low self esteem thanks to ur stupid MIL and ur hubs (he has a role to play to an extent to i believe).. but seriously hun, i think even i m not THAT pretty.. ok so sometimes i look nice and attractive and i m def photgenic but i dun think i m beautifulllllllll... but u know wot i do? i make sure i dress fabulously! sincei got married i wear the latest trends be it eastern/western... i think i look coooler, slimmer and younger in western as compared to eastern but even in eastern i try to incorporate the latest trends. i m crazy abt fashion trends ... i read magz, go online and search.. just keep urself updated with that. trust me after marriage i have gained sooooo mch confidence.. no one ever said i m stylish and all but i know in their hearts they are always wonderin how the hell i m am always so cool and matchin my accessories in each and every dress... even my shoes and handbags match!!! it took me 4 yrs and slowly i m sure everyone is realisin wot i m... so the point of tellin u all this is not yada yada... i distracted myself and concerntated on myself and ppl strted noticin me.. do that to urself.. trust meeeeeee it will do wonders for ur personality and slowly u wudnt care abt wot others think :) loads of hugs!

Well, I don't know if I am different but I always find more attraction in "normal" looking girls than the stereotype "beautiful" ones. Its all about aesthetic sense. I always used to some inexplicable beauty in some normal looking girls. My most obsessive crushes were girls others considered pretty plain and normal looking. So being normal looking isn't a bad thing.
Just your name is so pretty....I am sure your husband loves you. Try to find out what turns him on... this can be anything from wearing an anklet to a different hairstyle, to wearing fragrance.

You posted about this issue (I think) last year as well. And here you are several months later STILL complaining about your Mother-in-law and how she thinks that her son is better looking than you? Look, your mother-in-law is NEVER going to change. Unless she experiences a fierce enough jolt from her conscience, she's going to continue making such comments. So, are you going to continue complaining forever?
Jab tumhay pata hai k woh nahin badlay gi, to tum kyoon itni tension lay rahi ho? Tum us ko badal bhi nahin sakti. Tum sirf KHUD ko badal sakti ho. In other words, tum apni soch ko badlo. Khud main confidence paida karo. The next time she spews out such bakwaas, just don't let it bother you. Act like you don't care. Aik kaan k andar, doosray kaan se bahar. When your mother-in-law sees you getting upset and angry, she becomes happy because she knows her plan is working and this encourages her more.
DO you really need people to compliment you? Stop being an ehsaas-e-kam tareen ka shikar and become stronger. Ab koi banda har waqt to tumhari tareef nahin kar sakta. Your husband found you attractive and that's why he married you. If he thought you were ugly, he wouldn't have married you. And maybe people think that you already know that you're pretty and that's why they don't feel the need to praise. Ever think of that? Your mother-in-law is jealous and bitter. The day that you understand this about her and figure out her game, you'll feel more relaxed. Instead of anger, you'll feel pity that she's so insecure that she has to resort to such immature tactics.
You need to develop a tougher skin. Be stronger. You can't change her her. So change your thinking. Otherwise you'll be complaining all your life. That's what your MIL wants you to do. Don't let her win.

Confidence brings attraction.. To hell with anyone else. Atleast your not like the typical asian girl that bigs herself up at any oppurtunity. I bet your absoloutly stunning, When you start realising that, So will everyone else.
