WTH is wrong with facebook? We, at GS, would take down such a thread within minutes. What’s facebook’s excuse for allowing such disgusting groups?
This isn’t the first time this has happened. Forget the hateful groups on Prophet saw, there was even a FB group calling for death on that woman who threw the cat in the bin (remember her?) I don’t get it! Why don’t they just take these groups down?

Facebook is going through a maturity phase. Its obvious that its going to take one group at a time. Dont you remember the 'draw Mohammed day' thread because of which Pakistan banned FB in the country. FB took it down then. They will remove this page also.

Personally I can see where this would lead… Team A v Team B but then Team C want to get involved and then in comes Teams D, E, F and G and then before you know it everyone hates everyone and it’s every face for itself! :faris:

Facebook is phenomenal with it's reach & power. Look at the Tunisia revolution or current protests in Egypt.
I don't think so FB have enough manpower to go through all the groups or messages posted by more then half a billion population every single second. Until a Facebook group receive massive attention in media or over the million fans it's not even come on radar of FB security group, i read it somewhere.

People have lodged an FIR against this group and facebook still "isn't budging". Now that's got nothing to do with manpower.

i wouldnt want the government to peek into drawing rooms to see if people are talking about offensive topics at social gatherings.

GS is just a place run by some random people with no stated privacy policy or any legal representation or any phone no or address to serve subpoena..

GS is a discussion forum with features added to it. Discussions entail rules of debate.. no such thing for a social network. Furthermore each subsection has a specific topic-relevance scheme that limits a lot of said-crap. Also as opposed to facebook, GS users do not have the option of creating forums on the fly, and congregating there, thereby avoiding forums that might contain topics they feel offended by (this incidentally is why Blogs have a much looser moderation policy than forums). Finally every 'society' has some standards. Given that GS represents Pakistani society, it is easy to devise those standards. Facebook represents a global community, who have very few consensus standards. If you threaten someone with violence facebook tends to take that down pretty quick. Not quite the same as I hate Gandhi. People might have very good reasons to hate Gandhi. Who are you to say no dont hate him.

I have not visited this facebook page, but I'm sure that this page is created by a extremist Hindu, like the one who killed Gandhijee.
Muslims have lot of respect for Gandhijee and his vision of India. The number of Muslims across the world who love Gandhijee exceeds than the number of Hindus who hate him or love him.
