In addition to these “few” events of casualties(Shuhda according hinduaism according to bal thackery) no authentic religious scholar has consider basant as allowable festival in islam-
This is according to many reasons-few being
1-Israaf
2-It is hindu tradition and also kite flying on basant first started on the samadhi of haqiqat rai who was sentenced to death on account of blashphemy-

You can dislike/hate kite flying as much as you like. It is your personal choice. But the reason # 2 shows that you have no understanding of this sport and a the festival whatsoever. you can do better by pointing out more realistic issues like public safety intead of relying on these childish myths
