what to u is someone's tell-tale for revealing their "character"

So you know how it goes. A few months back, I had to turn down this girl who I had met at a networking event. She had asked me out to coffee to discuss her “career.” She works in PR, I am in Banking, so I figured that this was more about a career change, but it turned out to be much more than that.

Usually I keep a friendly but distant vibe when I am rolling out at the clubs, but I had guard down because this was supposed to be a professional event. So anyways we met up at a cafe on a Saturday afternoon, I got my non fat double shot latte no sugar and was reading the Wall Street Journal, when she arrives 5 minutes late and with no resume, or portfolio dressed in jeans and casual top, while I was returning from a 3 city trip so I was wearing the 2 button navy Brioni (no tie) and my mezlan hiltons. Anyways she sits down (*more like plops down) and starts talking about her week. I let the monologue continue for 5 minutes until I ask her about what this meeting was about? At that point she must’ve realized that I was all business so she came up with some weak excuse about PR in I-Banking, which made no sense because everything is done in house. In any case, I had realized that this was not meeting to discuss her career but rather some type of a twisted date.

The sad part is that she is an attractive girl and I am sure gets asked out a lot. But I told her that I don’t date and wouldn’t be interested in her in that way. I was tired so I headed home. I figured it was all done..

Fast forward 2 months later, I get an email from her asking for “help” contacting another coleague of mine. Mind you, she knows this dude more than I do, yet she somehow wanted me to get in touch with him and get his contact info (she has his email). So I am get her game (its pretty weak), either she is trying to start something with an excuse to contact me or soemhow trying make me jeolous. Either way, I am not into any of her freakish games, I woudl rather tell her that I don’t know this guy well enough. Any advice? I mean I don’t want to be mean, after all its not the girls fault for digging pK-one

The girl of course had to be attractive. An impeccably dressed gentleman like yourself would never get hit on by anyone other than a stunner.

Im sorry but you make it sound as if the girl is stalking you! 2 casual 'dates' (if you wanna call them that), and youre ready to see Dear Abby! Please, the girl seems harmless. If you dont (want to) date, then just say no, or just stop responding to her 'advances'. You make it sound like she is one step away from a restraining order.

Seriously, when you know someone is interested in you and you're not interested in them...the answers are pretty obvious.
