I just find that if you haven’t met someone in real life or talked to them substantially, how can you fall in love with a bunch of text messages over the internet??
Perhaps not love but I'm sure ppl can connect to quite a deep level online or by phone if they're talking regularly..
I know of quite a few white couples who met online and are now in serious relationships.. That's obviously different because they actually met but that initial strong 'pull' towards each other happened online..
I saw it in front of my eyes. My lab colleague fell in love with a girl in Australia (the girl as well) and they met face-to-face first time when they landed in Nepal to get married.
For me it hasn't work and probably won't in this life.
i'm guessing you wont go to watch the movie "her" ...i think all these stories just point to how weird our human minds can be...and the chemicals secreted in our brains that we interpret and translate as "love" dont need a physical being in front of us. but yes i do think 16 yr old grls falling in love over an online chat is quite appalling...you see in real life they're probably not even allowed to talk to a boy their own age...and obviously with all those hormones gone awry during your teens, even an online version of a male is quite charming and alluring.
im gonna start an R rated thread on something NO way a man could have any idea about.. and see just HOW KKF is able to respond in it.. i bet he will.. i know he will… :hinna:
Meeting online is just another avenue, you can connect with people, find someone interesting, and then either it progresses or it does not. How much a role online plays would vary by individual. I think additional interaction phone, in person meeting would be important but for some it may be less important.
