Personally, as tempting as it is to hash things out with her, do you REALLY feel like you will be able to come to an understanding? For someone who has the ability to stir all this drama without much even being said, you could only imagine the kind of drama that will come from approaching her. You know in your heart and your husband knows what the truth is, so why try to fix something that’s not broken. Just keep your dignity and respect because if you are expecting her to turn your problem solving attempt into a cart fight, you must know that she’s not really capable of reasoning with. She’s already said a bunch of lies about you, I’m sure it won’t make her nervous to say a couple of more just in defense of herself. If she’s really trying to stir up trouble then don’t let her win at her game by giving her that satisfaction. If your SIL trusted you enough to talk to you about and you were able to talk to her and be completely fine, then you shouldn’t worry to much about it. You may be pure in your intentions and wanting to try to get to the bottom of things as to why she would feel the need to spread rumors about you, but her intentions from the start don’t seem like its a mutual misunderstanding, it seems more calculated from your posts so why fall victim to a drama queens drama.

I was just wondering, I think she started it… what if it wasn’t SHE but my MIL?? What if my MIL started random things to her that led her to feel bad about me and say such things. Of course this I would only come to know through my Jithani, not my MIL will tell me…

I have this feeling because whenever I ask my MIL that what discussion was on, she is simply trying to ignore but saying, pata nahin, yad nahin… jab ke baaat ko sirf do din hoay thay!!
