Just how gathering means of livelihood isn't restricted to the men anymore, cooking and other kitchen chores are no longer a part of a woman's only domain...This is a new era where switching roles is considered praiseworthy!
I appreciate my hubby when he cooks every now and then, (still makes me chop the onion for him though:bummer: ) But if he started to do more than i do in the kitchen i certianly would not shout about it to friends and family.

Rida Aftab probably doesn't get as much publicity as Chef Zakir hence the comment.. really, if she hadn't said so we won't be talking about her or you-tubing her! badtameez larki!

This is what Rida Aftab, a cooking show host/chef said on one of her shows. She said "mujhay mard pakatay huey achay nahee lagtay" (I don't like men who cook).
Is this a territorial issue with some women? I know that most women would appreciate their men cook for them once in a blue moon but what if the man is doing more than 50% of the cooking? Would that make some women feel insecure? Would they consider their man to be less "manly" for doing something that is considered woman's domain primarily? Would it affect your relationship?
rida is talking rubbish. what's the harm if a man wants to cook? i know so many men who love cooking.
next will she will say she doesn't like men who look after kids? lol!

So it doesnt matter if i'm 200 lbs overweight, just so long as i sprinkle some all purpose on myself every now and then. Brilliant! :-D

Has Rida not seen mithai walas, doodh walas, jalebi walas, samosas and chaat walas, bun kabab walas on the streets of Karachi.. and most of them cook amazinggggg stuff. You will hardly ever see a female vendor in Karachi doing all that. All the men in my family are great cooks, while having awesome careers as well, mainly because during college they all dormed and stuff, and learnt to cook for themselves. My husband on the other hand doesn’t even know how to do dishes, the only time he ‘cooked’ in his life was when he helped me mix the brownies batter. But that doesn’t matter to me, I didn’t marry him for his cooking skills anyway. And as a wife, I do think it’s my responsibility to make sure my man is well fed after a day of hard work 
Now if he wanted to cook occasionally, that would be cute, I won’t shoo him out of the kitchen.

Here - it's a different story. The family's "oneness" becomes greater when hubby helps out! And uff! If he knows how to cook then he is THE MAN TO KEEP! .
True that I would love to keep him...but I would actually have to FIND him first :(

Men are the best cook. And they get paid sometimes in six figures. There are far more professional male cook than women. Besides there is a rise in male cook at home these days.

It is interesting that women who are traditionally considered cook and cook everyday still are unable to beat men in this art professionally. :-)
^ Good observation diwana. Any time you need something cooked for over 10 people you are better off consulting a man to do the cooking.
As far as desi cooking goes... no desi woman can remotely come close to making a chicken karahi like the fat punjabi men aka pehlwans.

lol - so true... I always think of this! If it's a man - he makes it big - cause he is thinking of business...
Women are just not molded to think business wise - although their recipes can be worth a million bucks.
I blame it on hubby's who NEVER PAY them money to cook like a million dollars. If men paid their wives then wife would start thinking outside the box too and actually MAKE a million!
I cook really good food and make best cakes ever...don't ask..i learnt those from my roommates when i was in med school.
All men should enroll in Rida Aftab's cooking classes one month prior to getting married!
