hmm i'm suriprised to see not a lot of people have true friends well I'm one of them....got lotsss of friends but I would hesitate to call them my TRUE Friends

My father told me since I was a young kid that in this world your only true friends are your brothers/sisters and parents. I come to realize I have no TRUE friends. I do know a lot of people, some better than others but I don't have any good pakistani friends at all. I never get along with them. Maybe because I don't speak the hardcore urdu and use those nasty words they're familiar with? I have a lot of arab/hispanic/white/black friends but not a single pakistani friend. I have support from a lot of people but no one I can tell my secrets too except for a hispanic girl I'm really close with. I had a girl friend back in the days I told everything to but she doesn't exist any more and now I have my wife who I tell everything to but that's beyond the point. Are there really true friends? I don't have any contacts from back in high school except for this sikh friend of mine along with 2 hispanics. Is this normal or am I missing out on something?
*No I am not a loner, just a REAL guy who likes to step up to the plate and ask real questions. Any one else?
Back in high school I never got along with desi grils either!! meaning all my friends were white/spanish/arab and so....I used to talk to them but I used to think to myself what have they turned themselves into and I didnt want to be one of them so I get your point here

There is no such thing as "true friend" in my dictionary. The only person who is true to you is yourself. I never share 100% of my secret/stuff with anyone because it can be very dangerous when those friends turn against you for some reason. Sometimes jealous people can try to step between friends and turn them against each other and can benefit from the secrets by using it against the person.
So, I have friends, some better than the other, but there is no one that knows everything that's going on inside me.
i have one Bangladeshi friend whom i can talk and discuess about anything. she is my friend since past 11 years and we dont even see each other just talk over the phone.
i dont have any pakistani best friend, just the people i know as family friends.
