A wise decision but perhaps this could have been better-timed .

Humble human-being yes, gentleman yes, copybook technique yes (esp. the on-drive) but I won’t exactly call Dravid’s style of batting the most aesthetic. He was neverthess a solid and dependable batsman who held the Indian innings together on many an occasion

Calling it quits after the series in England in 2011 (in which he excelled with the bat with 3 hundreds despite the indian team’s struggles overall) would have been the perfect timing IMO

I actually think Dravid’s retirement now eases pressure on Sachin to retire anytime soon

I would have taken a Rahul for both Inzi and Moyo combined.
