if your parents speak it…you can pick it anytime…its never too late to reconnect to your roots…
we had a kinda weird tradition in my own family…
when we were younger everyone would speak to us in urdu..
and we would speak only urdu…(we did understand punjabi though)…
but when we grow a little older..lets say 10-11 years old…then everyone speak punjabi to each other n parents…
so basically my older siblings n parents spoke punjabi with each other n urdu with us…and when we grew up we started speaking punjaabi too…
so both languages covered
