I said we'll start banning those who insult and those who provoke, additionally we'll start banning those who can't respect other faiths this includes Hinduism, Buddhism etc. Taali dono haathoN se bajti hai Sir. Do you realize how many members we'll be left with? NahiN na? Oh well.

Atleast i will be somewhere in the above list, those who dont find themselfs fit in the list should be the one worried.
Saba Baji Agreed, Any religion, faith, personal beleife should be given the same respect. Its clearly mentioned in Quran something like “tum dosroon ke Khuda ko bura bhala na kaho, kiyon ke phir wo tumharay khuda ko bura bhala kahain gay”
My point is, if I dont agree with someones religion i will just smile & walk away, i will not stand there & tell him i dont like ur God & ur Messenger, or make fun of him, his beleife. Atleast i can expect the same from him, cant i ?
Correct me if i m wrong here about my perception of Mods & Admins, they as being a care taker of diffrent forums have the responsibility to make sure someone dont hurt me personaly, emotionaly, religiously & similarly make sure i dont do the same with others.
Or are they just fancy show peices to make an impression the forums are being modrated & they can edit/delete few posts once in a while to let users know they are alive ??

sabah baji, it sure seems that way. If you recall, we had the same conversation a while ago, when chaltahai had posted derogatory remarks about islam & allah. In that thread you had promised, just like you are promising right now, to ban anyone who posts insulting comments about any religion; point being Roman (or whoever posts distasteful remarks about any religion) should have been banned without having us start these threads all over again.

sabah baji, that is such a weak rational...in other words you are going to tolerate all of this islam banter, just so that GS does not lose its "cherished" members..? Even now there are enough guppies that have enough etiquette, as not to poke fun at other religions.

Good, now if I refer to say a Hindu god as monkey or whatever and a Hindu member gives back, same style. Whom do we ban? The Hindu cuz ours is dearer to us or that person who provoked him?
Secondly, we do not judge ppl's motives (actually we try sometimes, but we rather not) so if I post an 'idiotic' question on Islam that offends you as you might either know the answer or you don't agree with me, tau should I be banned?

Uff baji did I ask u to ban someone in this thread ? or did i say something wrong to anyone else’s God (any beleife). Once i raised a question about a Cristian Beleife tho, & i was like I m sorry if i hurt someones feeling but i need to ask this. hmmm…one question out of curiosity: who decides whether something is gustakhi or not?
Every ethics, religion, civilization defines there own. For e.g. Ur own boundries would be when u dont like someone saying something bad to u, ur family, parents, loved ones, sometime that happens dosent it ? how does u define it was wrong? & u get hurt, angry ? …thats just ur boundries.
If u r open mind person u can listen to others, thier boundries maybe far away from urs, some might have even closer than urs…but u can always will be able to make a certain line upon which many would agree.
Another proper way is u define ur limit & let them decide their, u dont cross thiers, & they dont cross urs…easy enough ?
yes, so basically ur saying that every one should for him/herself define the boundary, right?
so in this case, suppose Roman hadn’t crossed the boundary as set for himself? but for someone else he was way beyond the boundary
the question is: if we want to ban/punish ppl, who is the authority to make the boundary? who decides whether something is gustaakhi or whether it is allowed?
also for the muslim countries u mention who give the death penalty for ‘gustaakhi-e-rasool’…who are they to decide whether something is gustaakhi or not? who gave them the authority?
NeSCio dear, I beleive authority here on GS is MOD/ADMIN and they decide to whom they’ve to bann and for what!!!
btw mind you, you seems to be too close to some of the boundries…

yes, they decide and if they have repeatedly said that their boundaries are set by themselves, and that they will rule according to their boundaries, why keep on opening threads like these? of course, it's ur full right to bring it to their attention, but what they do with it is their decision.......why worry about that? why keeping on opening threads on the same matter?

it wouldn't be acceptable to me, certainly not, but the only action i can take it notify the mod/admins......I would notify the mod/admin.....and if they too think that it is unacceptable then they will take action.
if they think that it is acceptable i can't do anything about it :~)

nescio..ofcourse you cannot do anything about it...but atleast you can raise your voice aganist it....I do not know how hard of a concept is it to grasp that adherent of religions (especially Islam) are extremely sensitive at how their religion is talked about...and they should have the luxury of not viewing any material that is offensive to them...

yes, they should. but they can also decide for themselves where they can get such luxury. if the GS mod/admin in ur eyes don't give u this luxury, then pack ur bags or just cope with it. decision is upto u :~)

yes, exactly. it is an universal concept, but the filling of it differs among ppl.........and apparantly the mods/admins have a different filling of this concept. it's their decision
