she is a pashtoon. her brother went to school with me. she is from a decent family. we both work for the government in the same cadre. she likes to laugh, and once told me that she loved reading books. I thought it would be be better if we were together becaus her house is like 2 hours away from mine, and so on occassions like Eid etc, it would be easier for her to be with my family and her own. plus there was the language thing. besides, i thought she is touching thirty and in pashtun society that is where your marriage proposals are non-existent for women. she is cute, but then most pashtoon women are cute. in any case those were the factors that led me to propose her.
i was not much of a friend, but had gotten in contact with her in this training. i had never asked her brother whether he had a sister, because I thought it was inappropriate in the pashtoon society.
