Re: I am thinking of taking on the Hijab

I find it weird that all you girls are so insecure about your nature and up bringing that some other girl wearing a headscarf makes you all so catty. Talk about pathetic.

Re: I am thinking of taking on the Hijab

Re: I am thinking of taking on the Hijab

That you are catty :p

Re: I am thinking of taking on the Hijab

no deary, its great that u wear hijab and i admire the girls who do wear and observe it properly. but every now and then u see someone wearing it and then not properly observing it ( like making out or tight shirts n jeans where everything is just popping out). if girls do wear hijab, they should also fulfil the responsibility that comes along with it.

Re: I am thinking of taking on the Hijab

^ Thank you saroor and barbie. those have to be one of the most intelligent comments i have read. and no hafsa, those are not stereotypes i am outlining. that is something that i have seen and that disturbs me.

this whole thing falls equally on the men and the women. i don't understand what makes a guy ask/be asked by a hijabi? i mean, don't you have any sharam or respect? if you are the askee, why don't you tell the girl to back off, and think about the piece of cloth she has on top of her head. and if you are the asker, plz kick your self in your nether regions a few times before asking. why screw up someone's imaan by doing something like that?

also, my observation are made in the west, where one is not forced to wear the hijab. wearing the hijab here makes a statement about who you are and what you believe in. so i don't believe in the whole one is forced to wear hijab. if your parents are forcing you to do anything, one can go to authorities and complain. if your bf is forcing you to wear the hijab, just kick him where it matters the most, IF you are not ready to wear one. because with hijab comes a lot of restrictions, responsibilities and obligations. and as a muslimah, it is your responsibility to respect them.

maybe i am spoiled by my friends. maybe my friends, in my eyes are good. maybe i don't see my hijabi friends, strolling hand in hand with a guy, unless he happens to be her fiance or husband. maybe, if and when my friends did have a boyfriend, they have felt really, really bad about their actions. maybe my friends who had boyfriends, are not hijabis anymore, and maybe because of that reason i respect them more compared to the hijabis with the boyfriends.

a darhi is not a break, admittingly. heck, it is more easier for men to grow a darhi than it is for a woman to cover her head with a piece of clothing. but when you do, just respect the stuff it comes with. it's not a piece of joke.

Re: I am thinking of taking on the Hijab

Your friends aren't the only good hijabis out there. Many end up doing wrong; however, do feel guilty about it, but I don't see why they should come running up to you or anyone else sharing how they may be feeling bad and guilty about their actions.

Those who observe hijab by choice try to be very careful about what they do. Given that we are all humans we all make mistakes and often feel bad about it. Observing hijab by choice is tough in the West. Just because someone falls into temptation or sin does not make the person bad to the core. Next time if you see a hijabi with her bf, please make duaa for them instead of mocking them. And if it really bothers you, go up to her and ask her what her relationship is with the guy and perhaps offer her naseeha to not to be affectionate in public, as it makes Islam and/or other hijabis look bad.

Re: I am thinking of taking on the Hijab

Maybe if you had a better sense of humor, you would land a boyfriend too.
