to me, Islam encourages me to visit graveyard [cemetery] so we could remember our own death. remember your death every night before you go to sleep…sleep is a ‘temporary death’. this is a good reminder.

Question - why do you have to visit graveyard to remember our death ?
Whatever happened to the notion of -
Dil main rehti hai tasveer-e-yaar (in this case, death)
Jab gardan jhukaai, daikh li.

Also, remembering death every night before going to sleep is very dis-comforting and psychologically scary for me. Just makes me feel so futile and insignificant.
