The other day I came to know that you can’t just show up at Bush’s campaign rallies – you have to be invited. First it’s so damn hard to get a hold of these organizers or people who are going in the first place and then the first thing they ask is your party affiliation. And if you reply that you don’t support Bush’s policies .. that is the end of conversation. You are stamped rejected!
What the hell .. are the Republicans so insecure that they can’t even tolerate people with opposite views sit among them? Talk about extremists!!!
Maybe the reason they don’t want non Bush supporters, is because they (correctly to some extent?) fear that those individuals would raise a ruckus at the convention… mouth off a few inappropriate soundbites that the cameras would pick up and it’d be on the evening news quicker than someone could say ‘boo’.
Say it ain’t so AhmadJee! You are the one and only Muslim Nader supporter i know! Actually you are the ONLY Nader supporter i know, Muslim or non Muslim

insecurity comes when you promise job, security, healthcare and failed to deliver all or one of them...
in true words of Clinton "If Republicans promise job, security, healthcare, education - you have to vote for Democracts."
Maybe you should have captured their attention by stringing the bait that attracts republicans... should have started off by saying "My millions and I are not currently Bush supporters....."
"What the hell .. are the Republicans so insecure that they can’t even tolerate people with opposite views sit among them? "
Perhaps they did not think that you were there to merelysit among them. The Democrats are the same about allowing hecklers into their venues. I am sure that Kerry will welcome your vote, and you can rest assured that you will be voting in line with 75% of the Jews in the country!
Repubs are MUCH tougher about who gets to attend their rallies, you almost have to sign papers stating that you love George W. and promise to vote for him before they let you in. They are also making it very hard for disenters to protest in NYC during the convention. And OG, the polling results you posted only confirm that indeed the average Jew is more intelligent than the average non-Jew.
NO doubt. I am pissed at the Bush campaign, the Bush administration, the Bush foreign policy, the Bush arrogance, the Bush lack of domestic agenda, the Bush tax cuts, the way Bush turned sympathy for US to hatred for US, the Bush lies, the Bush aides, the Bush character assasins, the Bush surrogates, I can go on and on...

I wonder what is the point of having only die hard supporters at your conventions when the whole purpose is to convince the swing voters. I mean they should concentrate on people other than those who are gonna vote for them anyway. Bah, politics.

** Not the tax cuts !!! ** I’ll defend your right to be pissed at everything else. ** BUT PLEASE, don’t go messing around with the tax cuts !!! ** If you’re going to start getting down in the gutter like that, I’m going to have to start talking about cigars, stains, blue dresses and the definition of “is.”
Of course you will myvoice, those things which happened ** 6 years ago** have nothing to do with any issues affecting the United States today and are merely distractions, Rove loves distractions. Unfortunately we can’t say that about Bush’s cocaine problem, which likely damaged Bush’s brain and how he thinks and thus “runs” the country.
Cutting Taxes during war time while increasing spending caused a record deficit (which is funded by our friend China) has clearly shown to have been an economical mistake and failure. Where are the 2.6 million jobs Bushed promised would be created this year, India? I know the Repubs really miss busting Clinton’s balls when it would rain outside but sunny times are ahead myvoice, soon you’ll have Kerry to blame for those rainy picnics instead of ignoring the hell storm Bush has brought.
MV, how can you comapre sexual indescretions to an irresponsible tax policy that may well end up in the Top 5 of Bush's Biggest Blunders List (and there's a lot of competition for that list) that may destroy the long-term health of our economy? I'll take a dress-staining, cigar-playing president who presides over the most prosperous times in US history any day over a president who (even with his Tax Breaks for Friends Policy) is the only president since the first year of the Great Depression to have a net loss of jobs. BTW, is it the bj or the lying about it that so offends you?
I am pissed at the administration's reckless environmental polices.
You know the other day I read this slogan that was pretty catchy: 'When Clinton Lied, no one died'
Anyway, MV bhaijaan, so is it really true that Rep. won't let any deviant opinion holder near their campaign stops? I assume you should know, being an insider.
Republican National Committee practice of having people sign a form endorsing President Bush or pledging to vote for him in November before being issued tickets for RNC-sponsored rallies is raising concern among voters.
When Vice President Dick Cheney spoke July 31 to a crowd of 2,000 in Rio Rancho, a city of 45,000 near Albuquerque, several people who showed up at the event complained about being asked to sign endorsement forms in order to receive a ticket to hear Cheney.
''Whose vice president is he?" said 72-year-old retiree John Wade of Albuquerque, who was asked to sign the form when he picked up his tickets. ''I just wanted to hear what my vice president had to say, and they make me sign a loyalty oath."
Nick Lucy, a 64-year-old veteran and Democrat, said he was turned away from a May 7 rally in Dubuque, Iowa, at which President Bush spoke even though he had a ticket given to him by a local Republican leader. Lucy, who was not asked to sign a form, said he has seen every president since Ronald Reagan, but he was denied access because he is not a registered Republican. He is a Democrat and a past commander of the American Legion in Dubuque who plays taps at veterans’ funerals.
''They asked the police to escort me out of there," Lucy said. ''I wasn’t going to disrupt anything, but I probably wasn’t going to clap a lot, either. Every rally the president goes to everyone is cheering for him because they’re handpicked."…
Seminole and UTD:
The tax cut was a HUGE success for our economy. I shudder to think of the economic problems we would be facing but for that stimulus.
You seem to conveniently forget that GW Bush INHERITED a recession. It didn't happen because of any policies he put in place. He also inherited the dot.com bust (Didn't happen on his watch). He also inherited the corporate management and financial accounting scandals. Anyone care to talk about who was President when the activities actually occured that caused the collapse of Enron and others? Oh.. and then that little thing happened on 911 that had a minor impact on the economy and financial markets.
While many might argue the fairness of who received the biggest portions of the tax cuts, few economists would argue that the tax cut positively impacted our economy in trying times. Leave my tax cut alone or I and a few people like me might just have to fire a few people to cut our financial losses. You want to see a job loss??? Just take money in taxes that we'd prefer to use to pay other people salaries.
"Anyway, MV bhaijaan, so is it really true that Rep. won't let any deviant opinion holder near their campaign stops?"
I am completely confused as to why you believe that the Republican Party should want or allow potential hecklers and rabblerousers in their midst. "Devaint opinion holders" are not going to vote for thier candidate, and will not be swayed. Why on earth do you think there is some obligation here?
And, for the record, Tax Cuts and Rate Cuts are THE way to stimulate the economy. (which was rolling over into recession around election time). Ask Jack Kennedy....
