This is what I would do if I was in her position:

1. Punch my husbands face in. LOL. Ok sorry. Um, inform my parents straightaway of the situation so they are aware of the mistreatment and can step in to support me.

2. Talk to my husband and determine the reasoning behind his actions. Why the need to slap? Over what?

3. Push the divorce card on the table, basically calling his bluff, because I doubt he would divorce with a child to consider and the fact that in a fudged up way he loves you.

4. Once he begs and pleads not for divorce, clarify that you wish to live separately from the inlaws and only on this ground you will return to the marriage.

Some people may think that pushing the divorce card maybe a little extreme, but in my eyes slapping your wife IN FRONT of his no good mother is not something that should ever ever be tolerated.

There is no islamic obligation for you to live with his parents. Explain that to him. Demand your own private quarters/accommodation, but near enough so that he can look after his parents.

I would push for separation from inlaws. These people will not let her live otherwise. That’s just my two cents.

Agree with most of that.

Her husband is an absolute scumbag for hitting her, needs to be put in his place; your friend needs to stand up for herself.
