Re: I am Pakistani but I don’t mind my wife wearing a bikini in public
I’m glad that it has gone from sinful living with in-laws to sinful living with BIL etc. It would also be nice if you defined the etc. part.
I’ve seen you use this same line many times here that the fatwa that Deeba is giving is posted on sunnipath or that it has been posted here a million times before. Be that as it may, how about you search and post it here to back up your claim.
I’m not sure where the getting touchy part came from. Are we to take your claims as the gospel and not question them? Must one suffer ad-hominem attacks for not taking questionable claims on face value?
At the time that the prophet SAW said it about the BIL (if he in fact said it) there was no free mixing of the genders either. Well, we, being the better muslims that we are, have no problem disregaring that part of Islam on one pretext or another. Because, apparently, we are better at controlling ourselves than earlier muslims when it comes to complete strangers who incidentally have less of an inhibition to an affair than would a vast majority of BILs. However, we need to take the BIL part quite literally because it syncs with our outlook and contemporary norms. Moreover, it helps if BIL part could be extrapolated to include all in-laws because girls don’t want to have to deal with the guy’s parents.
