I’m not fasting today because I dont feel like it. MY heart’s not in it today. I** think badthoughts**, I don’t pray as much as I should, I don’t read Quran and I listen to music. Some days fasting is just not eating or drinking and to me that’s an empty roza. And then I think, even if youdo every bad thing, you can try your hardest to do one Islamic thing.. one prayer is better than no prayer at all, and is an empty fast better than nofast?

Pray tell us what kind of bad thoughts. Sex? violence? hatred?

I do fast Alhamdulillah and I’m shocked to see so many people here on GS who don’t.

Umer, everyone is just kidding…I have in my life seen only one Muslim (?) who doesn’t fast and is not ashamed of it either…

Every Muslim I know, fasts…

And this being the month of Ramadan, when the gates of heaven are opened and Allah :swt: bestows his blessings, how can any Muslim not feel a sense of piety in this month? A loser he is…

I am not a hypocrite. As I do not pray 5 times a day, I believe I should not be fasting either as it would be hypocritical.

(I will start once I have performed hajj at the age of 55)

besides, if I pay for some poor person to have dinner as kaffara, it is better for me and for society.

I don't fast because on the judgement day I won't be judged for how many times did I fast but how many times did I share my food with those in need
