"I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO" - Justice Ramday

There is nothing to be ashamed of in the fact that all the present superior judges like the CJ Iftikhar, Bhagwandas, Ramday etc owe their very positions to swearing a new oath on General Musharraf’s direct Army-rule PCO in Jan 2000. Long live the Constitution of Pakistan  :jhanda:

Sarcasm detector prolly needs battery change.

Re: "I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO" - Justice Ramday

I try to be as funny as our PCO Judges and (now) defenders of the Constitution. :D

Re: “I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO” - Justice Ramday

God Bless the Free Judiciary. :jhanda:

Re: "I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO" - Justice Ramday

Pak judges are above all defenders of their respective kursis.

Re: "I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO" - Justice Ramday

Could Ramday sahab be ready again?

Re: “I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO” - Justice Ramday

Long live Free Judiciary :dhimpak:

Re: "I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO" - Justice Ramday

Well yes that's true.

Re: "I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO" - Justice Ramday

Well about 45 other Supreme and High Court judges have been. They are only following the examples set by Ch. Iftikhar, Ramday and Bhagwandas who swore an oath on Musharraf's PCO of 2000. :)

Re: "I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO" - Justice Ramday

Those that not will allow opportunities to others that want to form a healthy Judiciary rather than diluting it with the legislator or the executive.

Re: "I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO" - Justice Ramday

The situation in 2000 was very different from today. Then people were either ambivalent or supported the coup. The target of coup then was the existing regime, NOW, the target is judiciary and media.

Re: “I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO” - Justice Ramday

^
:rotfl: Excuses, excuses.

Same military ruler, same constitution suspended and same sort of PC0 in 2000 - as today in 2007.

Re: "I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO" - Justice Ramday

Judges put under house arrest. Human rights activists detained, lawyers beaten up, tv channels taken off air, journalists beaten and harassed.

There are lot of differences but you can turn a blind eye to that.

Re: “I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO” - Justice Ramday

Things were much freer in 2000 as they are today, yet still Ch.Iftikhar, Bhagwandas and Ramday etc willingly swore an oath on Musharraf’s PCO in 2000 ! Haha. :hehe:

Re: "I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO" - Justice Ramday

This will teach the lawyers to stick with their remit and not meddle in the legislator or the executive.

CJ Iftikhar and other judges never in the history of Pakistan had so much freedom as they did. They tried to be clever and paid the price.

God Bless the Free Judiciary that will uphold the judicial process.

Re: "I am not ashamed for taking oath under PCO" - Justice Ramday

Yep, that is so, so true.
