The situation in 2000 was very different from today. T*hen people were either ambivalent or supported the coup*. The target of coup then was the existing regime, NOW, the target is judiciary and media.
So basically you are saying that "aadliya" should decide the cases on the basis of "support of general public" and not on principles and constitution?
XCJ took oath BECAUSE coup was supported by general public and it was ONLY against existing regime and not against XCJ..... it was though against CONSTITUTION but then that should not matter to XCJ coz PUBLIC was with COUP :)

I beleive that adliya even at that time shud not have supported the coup and judges shud have followed the example of honourables justices like Wajihuddin and Saeeduzzamaan Siddique. However, then emergency was NOT against judiciary and media, the present one IS. Its good that more & more people including judges are against breaking the constitution again and again.

You can't justify one military coup and the PCO that the judges swore, and then condemn another PCO because. Both were extra-constitutional measures. I wish the so-called defenders of the constitution would be consistent in their views, as it seems they are more against personalities than actually upholding the laws.

Well XCJ's gang TRIED their best to CONQUER the country but they lost. Not all the gangs operate same way (like chitrol etc) just like the criminals dont operate in same way. Cheap criminals use force, intelligent criminals use brain......

You are ignoring the fact that these guys were "propped" up in his regime, just like we are so fond of bashing MQM, Nawaz Sharif for being child of military-minds we should remember these guys that Mushy brought up are the same things.
