You probably knew it can’t be happening when you saw the title. Now that you’ve clicked, here’s a serious question.
When people decide to ‘leave’ gupshup, why do they open threads? Why don’t they just LEAVE? I mean by opening threads, are they hoping people will ask them to stop and they just need an excuse/reason to stay? Lack of attention? Love to make a huge deal out of nothing? or what?
Honestly, if I were to leave, I would just leave. Some people may just notice my disappearance and question where I am, but I wouldn’t announce it. I may just reply in a thread or two, but will not open a seperate thread about it. I am not trying to make fun of anyone nor am I pointing fingers at anyone, but I just want to know the exact reason why people open threads when they are about to leave? Is it that you care about your friends and don’t want them to get worried about you because of your sudden absence? But then again, there’s PM system to let them know.
If I ever decided to leave then I shall quietly leave and won’t open more than 3 threads,…Just to tell my friends and foes that I am not leaving,…How is that ?

I think when there is a thread that someone is leaving then it means,..that person is polling to see how many guppies says final goodbyes and how many beg to stop. Its just like taking attendance. LOL
hummm good question .. i can't speak for others so i'll tell my reasons .. when i left gupshup for 10 days halo i opened a thread too and my intention wasn't to get attention from ppl .. firstly i don't like sending pms cuz sometimes inbox is full so i have to come again to pm .. secondly i wanted some good replies, more like advices and the main thing that i wanted to flood with my friends in cafe, last flooding .. :=d
You forgot to add that it’s because there’s too many people to sit there and PM, so to just let everyone know about it quick and easy, people open a thread.
What I think seriousely is, Its good to have thread opened up CozMore people get attracted to it. everyone knows someone is leaving and also good for Gupsgup forums to get more Hits on their counter.
Since they take pride in giving out the numbers that how many people visited,,.how many hits per forum and other stuff. Its good thing .
We should give our best wishes to someone about his/her contribution to Gupshup.
maybe they want others to stop them and beg them to stay like u said...or maybe just to let others know that Hum apse bezaar hore hai...or it could be to give a last farewell speech...there are so many reasons...
