You probably knew it can’t be happening when you saw the title. Now that you’ve clicked, here’s a serious question.

When people decide to ‘leave’ gupshup, why do they open threads? Why don’t they just LEAVE? I mean by opening threads, are they hoping people will ask them to stop and they just need an excuse/reason to stay? Lack of attention? Love to make a huge deal out of nothing? or what?

Honestly, if I were to leave, I would just leave. Some people may just notice my disappearance and question where I am, but I wouldn’t announce it. I may just reply in a thread or two, but will not open a seperate thread about it. I am not trying to make fun of anyone nor am I pointing fingers at anyone, but I just want to know the exact reason why people open threads when they are about to leave? Is it that you care about your friends and don’t want them to get worried about you because of your sudden absence? But then again, there’s PM system to let them know.

Shikra…I think there should be a sticky thread at the top…called something like "im leaving GS ". so anyone who wants to leave either for good or for a short while can just post in there and say so. then there wont be a need for everyone to open a separate thread. great idea na ?

Nice idea. But If I make a sticky, people will start flooding there rather than just signing their name and stating the reason. So one will have to really go through all the flooding to find out who's leaving or who has left.
