If you explain the story first and then your MIL will probably find something else to say bad about you or your parents and she wont give you a hug and say alright its ok.
You want to explain yourself because you want to clear your name/parents name and for people to know that you are not at faul here.
Well your mother in law wont accept that right now so why waste your energy and get even more upset.
I saw follow mabrooks advice, the connection between you and your mother in law is your husband, you make the bond with your husband strong your mother in law will come automatically

One of my sil out of six, listened the whole story from me n she also advised me to explain the story to mil.

Exactly. n once he's on ur side he'll ignore wat they say or he himself will start defending u n thus put tape on mil's lips.

The only person you can trust in this situation is yourself.
If she truly wanted to help you, and she thought this was right, she would go to her mother herself and explain the situation in my opinion!
