Hmmm. I hear that things in Jannat would very very different. Our needs and desires would be different. There would be no concept of jealously.
Offcourse there will be no concept of jealousy in Jannah but not in this world...May be its a human nature in this duniya.I don't feel jealousy for anyone in this world..but i can't stop envying them when the thought of my husband being with them comes to my mind.:o
Are you sure about that? I've never heard of anything like that before. I.
Off course I am not sure about that cause I've never been to Jannat :D
But I heard that from a quite reputable scholar, who is form very conservative school of thoughts, not one of those coat and pants Mullahs.
He mentioned that in a very small gathering and gave the same reasoninig that I mentioned of why the fact is very highlighted
. Since in Jannat our needs , wishes and routines will be entirely different therefore Hoors and Ghulamns will not be there for any worldly pleasure of men and women..
Our needs and wishes would exactly be the same .. sexual pleasure is one of them and the mention of hurs and ghulams is mainly because of that need
i say you should stop torturing yourself over something like that I have also heard on one of these tv programs that the hoors will actually be the wife’s kaneez thingies and the wife will be their superior. And even if your husband did get the hoors you should be happy that he will be justly rewarded for his good deeds in this world Try your best to get into heaven too so you can be together then maybe the hoors will envy you for being his wife:eek: and seriously its a total waste of emotions to be feeling jealous over something like that. why do you want to torture yourself over something that has no chance of actually happening i.e. when the time comes you will not be jealous anyway so why think that way now? thats like killing yourself over the fact that you won’t be able to recognise your parents, near and dear ones on the day of judgement and everyone will be there on their own. thats a more scary thought actually.
Same can be said about pretty much anything in the near or distant future. Yet we talk about things such as careers we'd want to do years from the present day, what kind of person we'd like for a spouse, how many kids we want to have, what kind of house we'd like to live in. None of it is guaranteed though. For all we know, we can die the next day or even sooner. That doesn't stop anyone from talking about all these hypothetical topics.
you make sense..but still.... personally i'd be more concerned with just getting there rather than worry about what will be there. i just have faith that heaven will have all the things we want. but i also dont believe discussion or debate is wrong, so... :)
Are you sure about that? I've never heard of anything like that before. I keep hearing that anyone would get whatever they desire. Maybe if we imply that they desire their own versions of hoors, but I haven't heard of any explicit mention of them.

"And give glad tidings unto THOSE WHO BELIEVE and do good works, that theirs are Gardens underneath which are rivers ... There for them are pure azwaj"(Al Baqara:25)
azwaj means hoor or wife? and is azwaj used in plural because those rewarded are also being referred to in plural or does it just mean more than one per person?

Me too. I cannot agree with you more.
These discussion increase our eman and remind oursleves about Allah and his mercy from time to time.

Azwaj can mean partner in this context. It can mean wife for a husband but if the wife of a husband is not with him then it can mean hoor or husband of a wife and some other kind of partner ( some ulema call them Ghulmans) for a wife if her husband is not with her in jannat. There can be umpteen reasons for husband or wife not being with someone in jannat. That being said rule of grammar dictate use of word azwaaj due to the whole context and flow of the verse. Now if your question is that will women have multiple partners then I do not know the answer to that question only Allah knows and I will not dare to question his authority and wisdom about this. We will find that out once he has fulfilled all his promises and prophecies after Qiamat.
Jealousy is triggered in your hearts and mind by the shaytaan.. if there's not gonna be any shaytaan around in Jannah, there's no reason to worry about getting jealous, insecure, etc etc etc.. everyone will be peaceful and happy! may Allah swt guide us all on the right path and grant us a high muqam in Jannah!!!

Azwaaj means mates or companions .. as I see it, its a genderless term. It could be either male or female or both
I recall reading in a hadiths that the wordly wife will be the Queen of the Hoors, and will be more desirable to her husband then the Hoors. Allah SWT will put light on their faces and silk on their bodies.
so why would you be jealous knowing that this is how you will be rewarded if you do good deeds in this life :)
I ain't jealous. First of all, the idea that they're even women you could have a sexual relationship with is not founded in Islam. The Quran refers to them in feminine terms, but doesn't mean they're female. They're companions, but only perverted male interpretation has taken that to mean they're sexual companions.
So, am I jealous? No. In fact, I hope to get a couple of playthings for myself in heaven.
exactly!! u dont need to get jealous of them as theyre just good to look at..BUT the pious women are going to be wayyy perttier than the hours..
“Allah will not make of her simply a hoor but she will be a mistress of all hoors. They will become maids to her. This means that she will be the most beautiful of them all and the most beloved by her husband among them”.
