One thing I badly missed in this episode was the background music from the promo. That music was so dramatic yet mournful. It covered sara's death & Asher's regret so well.
I really want to see a proper Asher's apology scene, a proper suthri of Fareeda aunty & Asher comes to know of sara's death scene. I really hope they don't rush it.
I frankly believe that everyone here is expert at 'over-analyzing'. And some people here just call every episode a drag, just because they are dying to know what happens in the end. That's not fair. Last episode was done beautifully, but the self-proclaimed critics of GS have the same old refrain.
lol, i think analyzing and discussing art is sucha fun experience. They do put everything in there for a reason and it IS up for interpretation.

Well said! Analyzing is the rich part of the experience of watching a serial. Author, Director, or actors cannot not predict all the different ways their work will be interpreted.
on a side note I do think a third of the credit should be given to the soundtrack for making this drama successful. If it was any other play I would have forwarded through the scene where Asher stands in front of the rain reminiscing about days gone by and QB's voice is in the background.
interesting to see that she went from watching Haseena Moin, AIA, and Noor ul Huda Shah to colorful saris and melodrama on Star Plus which contain not even an iota of what she used to watch and admire! And she is complaining about Humsafar not being humorous? Wow way to put down your own country’s work in front of colorful saris and saas-bahu soaps with loud music from Star Plus :k:
this should have been more a blog post than an article in dawn.com!
I dont think it was a drag!... this episode was important....if it ended this week, u all would have been sitting complaining that it ended abruptly!
the drama has been steady from day one... and it is ending in a very steady form which is good!!... you get into the skin of the characters and see their reactions. If Asher would have gone to Fareeda Aunty right after reading the letter or listening to her... the story might have changed... it was good to see that he is repenting what he said to Khirad!
Khizer's office coming could have been done a bit better... like instead of just going with the guard... he could shout out some of the truths he wanted to say. I mean he really did come to expose his mom. should have left with some words to ponder on!
besides that... everything was good!.... Sara & Zareena Aunty's scenes were well done! Sara's good night and zareena's reaction when seeing sara's body was fantastic.... I had goosebumps!!! well done!!
Coldness of Fareeda came out brilliantly! "Sara maar gai hai"... was the sum of her character!... It showed that she even used Sara!... I am hoping she ends up in a mental asylum instead of a suicide!.... will teach a better lesson!
Asher's scenes were brilliant as usual!! I finally get his pov of why he thought what he thought about khirad... he never knew that Khirad was in Khizer's home!... so it was natural he would have been shocked & surprised!.. so no hard feelings for him anymore! :D.... The outburst scene was Fawad Khan's finest performance!!... he has out done himself!!!...
so in conclusion... epi 22 was a vital episode! and as usual cant wait for the last one!!!
Reading differing views is actually part of the whole fun of following a TV program! There is no such thing as ‘over analysing’ when it comes to creative arts IMO.
BTW I have read reviews on other websites, but GS has some of the most varied and creative reviews of all!
yeh I was thinking it’s more like a blog. I just liked the way it admitted about the following Humsafar has created despite the criticism but definately the humorous part made me laugh . Humsafar was never supposed to be a light hearted drama and I think having even a bit of lightness wouldn’t have made it all as effective as in it may not have had the same impact.
Asher needs to stop crying like a baby. I mean he is supposed to be the hero of this drama serial. I will miss Sara, I really liked that character. She was misunderstood from the beginning and Naveen Waqar killed that role. What a great talent she is!
Love love this drama, I choose to ignore the negative criticism on the basis that you know a novel, film, drama story has done its job when you get so embroiled in the characters that you want things to be different and wish the director had done it so different so you could have the ending you want.. e.g naveen aka Sara ..
Only negative is that the preview for ep 22 was a bit of a spoiler and it would have been much better to have left us in doubt a little more.. but fantastic work from all the Pakistani Actors, directors, writers and also film crew
Everything aside, have you guys noticed Asher has a really bad habit of eavesdropping? Hamesha chup chup kar batein sunta hai
1 - He heard Baseerat mamoon & khirad’s conversation
2 - He heard Khirad talking with her friend about not moving in with Asher
3 - He heard Khirad talking to Batool Khala
4 - He heard Fareeda aunty talking to Khizer on phone
I am sure there are 1-2 other times as well, barri burri adat hai waisay asher ki ye
OMG you beat me to this post. I was thinking the same thing after he hears Khirad and Batool Khala…maybe that’s how he finds out about Khirad’s inner feelings. I really did enjoy these eavesdropping scenes…
