Exactly, you have diagnosed the disease we have been suffering from. No doubt, those who created MQM - Altaf Group were the Army Boots, those who split them into another faction, Haqiqi Group, were also Army Uniforms, the secular ruling class of Pakistan has been following the instruction of the gora master from the beginning, i.e Divide and Rule.
mqm is evil without question but to be fair other political parties in pakistan and wadera groups are not far behind.mqm was worse than italian and russian mafia could've been during the 90s in karachi.they killed, robbed, tortured many for money and political power.the worst part about all this is that they are still incharge of karachi and they are still engaged in some of the criminal activities which they were engaged in the 90s although not to the same extent. As there is development taking place in karachi, mqm is still collecting bhattas and is involved in corruption in various projects. It is sad that Musharraf who inspite of having a good character would be supporting such evil people, but one could argue thats its not Musharrafs' fault since these people have a huge vote bank in Karachi.
MQM is a minority considering it as political party, influence or a violent group. You are not even on the cream of corruption and rampant killing when you blame MQM and Altaf for all wrongdoings in Karachi. No body in Karachi supports Altaf; he lost all the respect after those violent uprisings, people in Karachi know who he is and for working. Those gathering for him are as similar to what Mullahs might get by gathering some 14-year old or the ignorant bunch. Stop with the guilt by association bull crap.
Are we going to discuss what PPP did under their watch, Nawaz Sharif and his venture with Pakistan’s money or the Mullah association who have nothing to do constructive but make Pakistan a security issue in the International arena?
How about we also mention the human rights abuses of sindhi wadera PPP, punjabi feudal PML, jihadi terrorist jamaat i islami, punjabi pashtun Taliban, ISI and army? The army massacred 1 million bengalis and yet they are hailed as heros, but altaf hussain who defended his people against the army murderers is called a terrorist!
Today we all know who is giving pakistan a bad name around the world and it is not MQM!
Their atrocities perhaps equal to very minor and restricted as compared to
MQM atrocities and terrorism. Where others have always been under check, MQM has given full freedom of killing and extortion. It is high time that this party should be banned and special courts be established to try these killers and hanged them in public.
I agree, MQM has done the most damage to Pakistan where Pakistans financial capital the bread and butter was brought down to its knees just because of MQM terrorism.

Like asking where your grandfather was from?

I don't mind the ban, the process you mentioned should be carried against thugs and killers of all parties including PPP jialas and Jamiat.
Debater jee, same source cited by you has Hamas and Hizbollah as terrorist organizations. More importantly, as per your interpertation its the farangi kaafirs source which u very conviniently have used to substantiate your case. Munafiqat he munafiqat.
Thats because you cite the same sources to make your case against the so called islamic fundamentalist terrorist orgs and their word is holy gospel to you…Giving you any other referrences would be futile and one which you’d be eager to dismiss as biased…this is a neutral source, with no apparent anti-mohajir bias, as would be the case with either jamaati or other punjabi dominated pakistani sources…
Lets not forget Azeem Tariq, Altaf's number two man was assasinated by Altaf's thugs on his orders in a typcial mafiaso fashion, as Altaf did not want any claims/competition in the leadership....
Everyone killed innocent ppl and opponents. MQM killed more coz they were in majority. Hasb-e-Taufeeq every single party killed the opponent workers.
So there is no point in starting the threads like "MQM terrorist..." , "Jamat Terrorist..." , "Islami Jameaat Talaba terrorist..." again and again and again. It just provokes the ppl and starts "behes-bar-e-behes"
I have seen and have been through all this first hand
My cousin (Jameeat-e-talba) was killed by MQM
My friend (MQM) was killed by Punjabi Pakhtoon Itehad
My childhood friend (MQM) was killed by Jamaat-e-Islami
Many of my friends were in Jameeat-e-talba and i know how they used to go to beat the hell out of opponents. Bus per Bus bhar bhar ker jatey theey....
Similerly i also know how MQM used to torture their opponent workers!
so i have been there...and through it!
Not a single guy from any of these party can stand up and claim that they have never done it and that their hands are clean.
What the MQM supporters don't realise is that MQM, with all the violence it wreaked from mid 80s to the 90s in Kaarchi virtually eliminated Karachi off the international map. In the 60s and 70s all the major airlines such as Lufthansa, KLM, Air France etc. use dto stop over in Karachi, you can check the wikipedia entry for that. Karachi was the major hub in Asia along with Singapore and Tokyo. After all that recurring violence no one would dare touch Karachi anymore. Now even Kuwait Air wouldnt fly there! In the end, MQM is Karachis own enemy.
Although Karachi situation had the part to play but MAJOR reason for all the airlines to move out of Karachi to DUBAI was not this but it was the expenses. DUBAI was much cheaper for them as far as LANDING and FUEL charges were concerned. It was purely the business dicision, please correct your facts.
Saying that, of course MQM (and other Parties) have hurt the Karachi economy VERY badly and Karachi is still trying to recover. All Karachites need is peace, and they can grow in folds.

Obviously, the foreign air carriers I named had to look for other alternatives when they decided to wipe Karachi off their destination map coz it was so unsafe to go there. Dubai was the closest alternative as you have stated, but KEEP IN MIND that they only started to radically overhaul there Airport facilities in the 80s, a time when Karachi was in decline. Business activity subsequently shifted too from Karachi to other parts of Pakistan as well, and so the foreign carriers decided to fly elsewhere in Pakistan.
