So lets say your hubby requests you to call him aap in public, would you? Also, in private he doesn’t really care but just in front of people.
And why or why not.

Re: Hubby = App
if he is the one " requesting "…it tells a lot ![]()
Re: Hubby = App
It sound so cute to get a bashing with “AAP” ![]()
“idher aayee AAP ki khabar laitee hoon”
“AAP ka demagh tu kharab nahi ho gaya hai”
“AAP intehiee zalleel insaan hain”
“AAP bhi apni ammi per hee gaeey hain” ![]()
Re: Hubby = App
My Urdu is terrible so I call everyone 'aap' anyways. =/ I feel like when I use the word 'tum' or 'tumhe' or something along those lines I sound extremely paindu - more so than with my already broken Urdu-speaking abilities. My cousins always make fun of me when I use more... colloquial terms i guess. But I guess i wouldn't mind if I had to do that. It shows respect and I guess privacy to some extent.
Re: Hubby = App
I love calling aap
. Especially when I have to say something mean…has so much more love.
Re: Hubby = App

Re: Hubby = App

No, they don't. But when EYE (I) use those terms I sound paindu. Probably bcos I don't have a great accent.
Re: Hubby = App

Re: Hubby = App

I agree Nomi- I think we should concentrate on HOW he “requested” to be called aap. That can mean a lot, you know.
D6C- I love that. App bohut badsoorut hain. Did I do that right?
Re: Hubby = App
wouldnt have a problem, i find it cute :D
Re: Hubby = App
calling your hubby ‘aap’ is a cultured thing…but, why would a sane husband demand such an absurd salutation? ![]()
Re: Hubby = App
There is no issue with that. I think it denotes a certain amount of respect especially in front of others. The listening audience might be the sort who come to him and go like "o she doesnt respect you she calls you tum in public" and similarly badmouth her and show her attitude (especially his own family) if they are that sort. If he is asking, he must have his reasons. Though I would imagine that you do it without him even asking because we all are aware of the society and crowd we move in. I think an automatic switchover to aap comes into effect if you don't use it commonly in certain crowds.
Re: Hubby = App
Why in public only
Infact apas mein bhe Aap he kehna chahye ![]()
Re: Hubby = App
Did you know?: There's an App for that

Re: Hubby = App
