i don’t want to offend but SHOULD we make judgement about this without knowing the turth.? Maybe they really have got negative istikhara, maybe its wot u think is right… but should we not take the positive side and try to keep our mind off from making negative impression of other ppls and families just based on our own assumptions.?

I am not making judgements. I am just telling that this happens and I don’t think there is anything wrong with it. If you have a slightest doubt about a relationship then it is better not to commit yourself to it. And istikhara is a very decent excuse for this purpose.

And I don’t mean to point out on the families or anyone. All I mean to say yes, sometimes istikhara come out negative and sometimes they just use it as a decent excuse to move on.

Y did they do the istakhara after some time? It should have been done at the beggining, its not fair on both individuals coz they probably established some kind link with one another.

Thats a good idea… i have seen few families doing istikhara even before inviting a possible life partner for their children… So definitely this practise is also followed but i have known only 1 family doing like this so far.

I did an istikhara once, and nothing came out of it. I later found out that I had done it the wrong way, like soneone said here I was waiting for a holy figure to appear in my dream. However, a cousin of mine who is a hafiza knows how to do the Istikhara properly, she did it only twice, she got the answer however, she refuses to do it for other people. as according to her the first two times her body went cold and she felt scared. (Probably diff people get diff feelings?) Anyway she got positive answers.

I thionk I didn't get an answer because i am not that Pious anyway.

It's not just the 'istakhara' but everyone wants to do every 'magical' thing which makes their life easier and satisfies their superstitious mindset which includes all those 'jaadoo', amaliaat', 'taaweez', magic ****. Some commercial areas in Pakistan proudly advertise these people who would help you get over all your problems and make you achieve all the success that you dream of. So much help these people offer to the whole Pakistani qaum and people even go there and try it and yet it's so clearly can be seen how 'successful' Pakistani nation is. The most developed country in all fields. Makes all of us cry looking at the success after success of the Pakistani nation.

Istikhara is not a magical thing and secondly if u go to some proper knowledge person he/she will tell u to make ur mind first and if u really are ready to follow wot is going to come in the istikhara u will follow than go with it otherwise if u r already leaning onto 1 side and istikhara comes on the otherside than u might not be able to stand firm to act on istikhara… So its not something which u can just do for the fun part… u have to be dead serious that u will follow wot comes in it and during any hardships which comes on that path later on than u won;t regret it..

Secondly u don;t do istikhara for lazyness.. So it has nothing to do with the progress or development of the nation. Its a personal matter and deals with the very personal level issues. don;t mix up different things. i haven’t read by any teaching or action of Prophet :saw: that istikhara is being done for any collective issue.
