If you want to pop in a **non-AT&T SIM, you just do it.

Thus, if you want to use a different ATT SIM card, then you have to use the network unlock code…which they give you upon request.

But perhaps I am misunderstanding.

no perhaps you are misunderstanding. you enjoy your " automatically samsung unlocked thru att" while ill enjoy my iphone 5 which att had to unlock it for me. cheers
