I dont know how much u want but lets say u want enough for 4-5 people
take two tall glasses of rice, wash them and soak for about 40 mins. now take a large pot and fill it two thirds with water, cover and bring to a boil. once boiling strain the rice completely so no water is left this way the water comes to a boil quick when u add the rice in it. add about 1-2 tbsp salt to the water and 1/4 cup of vinegar. now add the rice and set the timer for 9 mins. do not cover, let them boil, one time is up take them off immediately and pour them in a strainer to dain out the starchy water. leave them in it for about 5 mins, put back in the pan, drizzle a couple of tbsps of oil and ur done. Well I am anway.

that reminds me its been loooong time I cooked rice. Strange
though, i cook many dishes but incidently have not cooked chawal

You can overdo rice.

it's not that easy to make perfect rice actually.... it does take a bit of practice to master it and different people use different methods.

i use rice cooker,,its soooo easy,,i make biryani, khichree,,pulaou every rice dish in rice cooker,,and rice are always iak daam allag alaag not chipka huwa to each other,,i just put 1 table spoon of vinegar..

rice cooker hey? hmmm....good idea. So you really make any type of rice in them? is it easy to cook the rice and is there a certain method or is it quite self explanatory? if you really recommend it I might invest in one myself!

well i dunno abt nebody else but this is how we make rice in my house and it works everytime - this is a very simple recipe.
so if you have two cups of rice make sure you wash it etc jus like daal and then leave to soak abt 1/2 hour and then drain.and leave aside.
to begin - make sure your pan has a heavy base otherwise the rice will burn ( " neechay lagg jaingay" ) and so add 4 glasses of water - wait for the water to boil and add some salt ( maybe a tsp @ max) and when the water is boiling add the drained rice . also add a little bit of butter and mix. then put the lid on and move the pot to a smaller flame.leave for abt 20- 25 mins (at max) and stir the rice at least once to stop it from sticking to the bottom. and thats it . this alwasy works for me and the rice are fluffy and not clumpy :D i hope it helps you :)

i just boil rice with water...i can't add vinegar, salt or butter to it..coz i can taste that stuff which then makes me feel sick.
