Hmm I see everyone cooks their rice differently.
Here's how I do it.
If I have 2 cups of rice I use 4 cups of water to boiling. (double)
Wash the rice in a heavy based pan, add the water for boiling and some salt and oil, put it on a high flame and wait till the water has evaporated and u start to see ' holes' in the rice. Lower the flame, cover the pan tightly. I use a tawa for the ' dum' and leave it on for about 9 mins.

Yeah i make mine the way u do...i probably didn't explain it too well :(
Rice cookers are fun and easy but they are unhealthy
cause the starch remains in the rice where as cooking it on stove we can actually drain the starch and get rid of it.
