Desi margarine or western margarine, it is made in the same way and it does whatever i said.
Yeh, stop eating margarine because I want my friend (CB) to live a long and healthy life inshallah
Oh no problem, your welcome. Glad to be of help mada’am

Re: HOW TO MAKE pakistani parathey
that link show u how to make triangle shaped parahtas...interesting.....
i usually roll out a pera into a thick circle. Add butter to it. then i close one flap on the edge and add more ghee/butter to it. sprinkle flour. then i flip over the other edge to make a long folded thing...stretch it out a little add ghee/flour and then roll it into a pera again by twisting it around. Then lightly roll it out without much pressure n cook, u have a nice layered crispy/yet fluffy parahtha. Wish i had patience to take pics of the steps.

Re: HOW TO MAKE pakistani parathey
^Triangle parathay?? OMG looks like I will have to make a paratha today and take photos:smack:
I am not taking the micky out of yew. Plus eating natural is always more healthy than substitutes for natural things. I suggest you get off eating margarine or even take margarine in moderation. Paratha does not need that much ghee otherwise it will not be CRISPY on both sides, use a little bit but use natural ghee. :)
Aishaji, gheee may be natural but is is still 100% saturated fats, the kind that coats your arteries wirh plaque. Have you ever tried using just canola or olive oil to make your parathas. I would really like to see a double blind test to find out if people can distinguish the two kinds of parathas (ones made with olive oil, another with ghee).
Re: HOW TO MAKE pakistani parathey
This is the way my mom makes parathay…
1, 2. make the pera as normal, and dust it with some atta, as shown in pict
I wish i could explain after that what happens, but I haev never made a roti much less a paratha. I just hope this was SOMEWHAT helpful.
Re: HOW TO MAKE pakistani parathey

Re: HOW TO MAKE pakistani parathey
Make a soft dough with flour, salt, sugar and oil. Leave it in fridge for 2 hours. Take it out and divide into equal parts, roll out each, spread some Ghee, make it into a roll and round then flatten it out with hand. Thin out the paratha with rolling pin to make sure the paratha isn't too thick and then cook it on griddle with some ghee on medium heat. Tadaa!
Re: HOW TO MAKE pakistani parathey
To those who think you shouldn’t add oil/ghee into the raw dough: If you do, it results in a more flaky paratha.
I can’t make rotis that well, but i make some mean parathay…![]()
Re: HOW TO MAKE pakistani parathey
whts the dif b/w a normal paratha n pakistani paratha…![]()
and the best tip, the more your knead it the better and softer the roti's will come out... I usually knead for about 10-15 minutes , occasionally using wet hands ...
You can save the effort by this tip...just when the atta forms into a ball..just touch it up with little water by wet hands and leave to stand for 5 mins or so...and then knead it.......It takes minimal effort after wards, just few strokes to reach that nice consistency .
Re: HOW TO MAKE pakistani parathey
Sara this is the first time I’ve seen paratha made this way. I wish I had seen this few days later…closer to weekend(my paratha day)..now I have to try it first thing in the morning:sigh: ..and all the *gunah *goes to you ![]()
that’s EXACTLY how my mum does. I tried it…so wrong
But it’s filled with soooo much butter and ghee…just oozing out of it. :hinna:
Re: HOW TO MAKE pakistani parathey
Sweefi, you gotta make sure you only put little butter on each layer … if you put lots on each layer then defo its gonna be oozing out :saharo2:
The best and the flakiest pratha i have experienced is the square paratha , I dunno, maybe its the way its made that it comes out extremely nice ,flaky and crispy…
MM, thanks so much for that tip, I will try it inshallah next time i kill myself kneading aata:cb:
