Re: How to Lose Weight in One Month for my Wedding? HELP!!
I had lost weight before marriage( but now unfortunately back to my plump self after two kids :( )....all you need to do is walk briskly(so that you are breathing harder) for 30 mins(increase it to 40-45 mins) 5-6 days a week and keep an eye on your diet....avoid sweets and stop eating when you are no more hungry, meaning don't eat until you are full....another good idea is to eat a fruit or so just before your meal so that you are not very hungry at the table and gobble down without keeping an eye on how much you are eating....you will lose 2-3 lbs per week.....it is slow but it is promising..'coz you are actually losing fat not water like in those crash diets where people claim to have lost 10 lbs in one week.....so if you have even one month you will lose 12-15 lbs over a month and pleassseee don't stand on your sacle everyday hoping to see great results...you will get disappointed, 'coz the results are slow......so the best thing would be to weigh yourself every week and IA you will definitely see results....so basically eat a little less than usual (not starve) and walk. good luck and keep us posted on the progress :)
Re: How to Lose Weight in One Month for my Wedding? HELP!!
I have lost weight a lot of it actually in one year. I lost 10 kgs in one month, the day I decided I have to lose weight. It requires these things.
Patience
Pain Threshold - High
Stamina
Determination
Self Control
Time Management Skills
You need to start writing a health journal. Cut your calories to 750 a day. Write down whatever you eat. Eat 5 times a day in minute proportions. Eat salads and greens. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day or 2 liters. Exercise twice in a day. 15 minutes in the morning, 15 minutes in the night 1 hour before sleeping. Walk for 30 minutes. Follow a diet. Eat less. You should lose a lot of weight if you do exactly what I have told you.
Re: How to Lose Weight in One Month for my Wedding? HELP!!
^ you seem to be lucky to have lost 10 kgs in one month (discouraged by all medical experts though) with the drastic cut down on calories and not to have gained it all back....
What happens when calories are too low?
1) Muscle mass is broken down for energy (catabolism).
2) Metabolic rate will begin to drop (typically) after 3 days of very low calories - this is related to, and compounded by the loss of muscle mass.
3) With very low calories you risk sluggishness, nutritional deficiencies(might result in hair loss, bad skin etc), fatigue, and often irritability. You are completely set-up for a regain in fat if you suddenly return to your previous eating patterns.
Women need about 1200 calories every day (could be more or less depending upon your body weight....so find out your BMR(basal metabolic rate)....which tells you your calorie requirement for your normal body functions).....If you make your body defecient of some of the calories it needs to function every day, then your body tries to get the rest of the needed energy from the fat stores by burning fat, resulting in weight loss...but if you try to solely lose your weight by cutting down on eating (starving), the above mentioned issues are bound to occur and also you can never lead that "starving" lifestyle for the rest of your life and once you return to normal eating your body which had adjusted itself to operate using those super low calories, starts to save the "now extra" food you are eating ( normal eating) which means it will store it in the form of fat stores....meaning you will start getting "fat".
So the best way would be to achieve the calorie defeciency is by eating a little less, but balanced diet....may be 150-200 calories less by reducing your food intake from a given day and then about 200 calories through working out(easiest is brick walking 30-45 mins per day most days of the week). Exercise also builds your muscle mass, which in return increases your BMR, meaning the building muscles in your body keep burning calories all the time(even when you are not working out) so more weight loss.
So, being there done that, I would advice to take a lesson, yet again, from the age old story "slow and steady wins the race".

Discouraged by medical experts. Medical experts discourage from doing other things too which are contradictory to what people have been doing from ages and living healthy lives when science was yet to be developed and evolve to become this advanced. Slight example of not feeding honey to a baby when we have been doing that as gurti from ages. Babies were healthy and normal. Nothing happened. Science says many things which keeps on being proven right or wrong all the time.
Yes all that happens but reducing 150-200 calories from what you are eating normally is going to give you a very minor difference or in most cases not at all. You people assume that when I lost those 10 kgs, I did drastic things like eating nothing or heavy exercise when that is not the case.
All I did was, follow a diet given to me by my nutritionist. Eat water retention tablets. Eat folic acid plus iron tablets. Drink lots of water. Do one hour of aerobics 3 times a week. Do exercise 30 minutes a day and walk 30 minutes a day.
Viola went from 90 to 52 kgs. Oh by the way, I am 5 11 in height.

keep calorific intake to 1100, you should be fine.
Lean meats, grilled/baked/steamed
no oil, no fats no refined sugars, snack well keep yourself filled, eat complex carbs but not too much, one meal protien only, include fruits skimmed milk, nuts, almonds in your diet. Lots of leafy veg.
45 mins of cardio every day (intense) 30 mins weights include crunches, squats lunges

Totally 100% agree with Dubaiwali!! :) :)
No pain, no gain....
About 5 yrs back, I lost 37kg in the space of 5 months!!! Obviously went to extreme lengths to lose so much so quickly!! You HAVE to exercise... that is key....
....Alhumdulillah, it has been 5 yrs and haven't put any of it back on... and I eat EVERYTHING!! No joke!! Chocolate is my weakness. I can BINGE on chocs / cakes but as long as I am hitting the gym, I will not put anything on. Weight training is a must too - it's not all about the cardio!!!!
Even though I didn't diet in the "proper" way as stated by "medical experts", I am fitter than any girl I know .....and a lot fitter than most guys in my gym!! ;) No health problems... all vitamin and mineral levels are normal.... muscle and fat ratio BETTER than normal.... and i'm NOT a twig either!!! Curves are ALL in the right places!!! :) :)

daddy's girl...you seem to have gotten me wrong...I wrote that by eating a balanced diet and exercise you loose weight in a successful way....I did not say through dieting at all!
Re: How to Lose Weight in One Month for my Wedding? HELP!!
South Beach Diet. Most rapid weight loss you'll ever see. You have to follow it to the T though. Get the South Beach diet book, with instructions and explanations. It's really easy to screw up this diet, so make sure you follow the directions well.
Yep, you will lose 10 lbs in 1 month. That's for sure.
Combine the South Beach Diet with excercise and you'll lose some more.
