daddy's girl...you seem to have gotten me wrong...I wrote that by eating a balanced diet and exercise you loose weight in a successful way....I did not say through dieting at all!
Yes, eating a balanced diet and exercising is the best way. I didn't do fad diet or anything like that. I ate my protein, carbs and dairy.... just ate VERY little in those 5 months... and things that were virtually fat free.... e.g A LOT of tuna and salad.... i did still have my salans every night though.... my mum cooks HEALTHY curries.... none of that oil malarkey!! :)
I had enough energy to exercise.... I practically lived at the gym....
I don't believe in fad diets... you will ALWAYS put the weight back on.... only way to lose weight and keep it off is exercise.... and you should NEVER cut out a food group.... people that believe carbs make you put on weight are wrong!! You need carbs for energy... you just have to eat the right kind of carbs!!!
I eat everything now... I have carbs, protein, fat and dairy everyday.... and have the bad treats too but because I have built on my lean muscle, my metabolic rate is pretty fast and I am very active too... it all helps!! :)
Discouraged by medical experts. Medical experts discourage from doing other things too which are contradictory to what people have been doing from ages and living healthy lives when science was yet to be developed and evolve to become this advanced. Slight example of not feeding honey to a baby when we have been doing that as gurti from ages. Babies were healthy and normal. Nothing happened. Science says many things which keeps on being proven right or wrong all the time.
Yes all that happens but reducing 150-200 calories from what you are eating normally is going to give you a very minor difference or in most cases not at all. You people assume that when I lost those 10 kgs, I did drastic things like eating nothing or heavy exercise when that is not the case.
All I did was, follow a diet given to me by my nutritionist. Eat water retention tablets. Eat folic acid plus iron tablets. Drink lots of water. Do one hour of aerobics 3 times a week. Do exercise 30 minutes a day and walk 30 minutes a day.

Aisha, i m sorry i m not wanting to take away from yr hardwork but dear 52 kg at your height is not healthy at all.
exactly my thots.
only way this can happen is with a crash diet, it's called crash bc you may come crashing down on your wedding day and pass out due to bad dieting habits.
however i had a friend do the cottage cheese diet with pineapples and fruits here and there...she lost the amount she wanted to and in time but she eventually fainted and had stomach cramps, bad headache dehydration and such. so the pictures look great but she felt like crap.
it reminds me of those ppl that took alli as a quick fix to weight issues and then complained about diarrhea issues and bladder problems. I couldn't feel bad for them i mean there's no quick fix to shedding the weight. i advise anyone reading this to be realistic and responsible.

I joined sparkpeople.com and it really really helped me! Its got a lot of info and resources all for free...lol, i sound like im their spokesperson now! but for real, it helped me with types of exercises i need to do, gave me meal plans, helped me track every calorie! I lost 28 lbs in 3.5 months...you just have be determined and the hard part is staying on track!

Atkin';s diet- not really good.
CAbbage diet will make u loose weight really quick but u will have gas and the weight might come back. But do take a balanced diet, arnd 1500 calories per day. try to get into fruits and veggs. Boiled baked chicken. Skimmed milk and cut out carbs. and Exercise! Swimming wod b the best. U can loose arnd 500 calories with one hr swimming.
