How to lose extra fat?

Hi, I’m Maryam, 21, and working 8-9hrs a day for past two months now. The problem is, I’ve to sit through the whole day at work which has caused me to gain fat all over and specifically on thighs, hips, and lower back. I’m trying to cut back on eating, tea, sweets, etc. I also exercise 4-5 days a week, but I keep on gaining fat. Can anyone please tell me how to reduce it? or what to eat, what not to eat? please.. i need HELP!

hey maryam u r in need to use low fat food products or fat free diet.change ur diet habbits also,,,for example if u r taking any snack in ur lunch time at ur job u can take an apple as alternative,,,in breakfast use brown bread,take skimmed mild low fat yougurt as ur diet.stop taking rice,oil cooked food...remember u hv to compromise for some time n sacrifice for all tasty n favourable food if u wanaa slim body..also my experience says dat brisk walk(fast walk)for 30 or 40 min daily is gud key too.dont skipp any food,alwys eat but think b4 every meal wat u eating....gud luck

Hiya,

You want to stick to your exercise regime and eat healthy low-fat snacks - remember to eat a good breakfast and for lunch opt for salads, pastas, rice-dishes, fresh chopped fruit, soups, yoghurts and/or sandwiches.

Also try taking regular breaks throughout the whole day and walk around your workplace every hour or so, even if for a quick 2minute pace...

drink LOTS and LOTS of water. like atleast 1.5 litres or more while at work. obviously u'll be going to the bathroom more often but its good if u have an excuse to move those legs and leave the workstation for a while. water also keeps u hydrated as well as feeling fuller. eat veggies and fruits everyday that are high in water content and make u fuller without adding too many calories. take the stairs instead of the elevator and worst comes to worst u can just go to a gym after or before work and run for half an hour everyday....that helps too.

Go to the gym or for a jog during your lunch break, eat 2 pieces of fresh fruit as snacks, have salad with light dressing (like Balsamic vinegarette), eat grapefruits, boiled eggs (without the yolk), cottage cheese, stawberries, honey etc for breakfast. Basically associate being at work with being healthy. This way on the weekend you can have normal food (but still not overdoing it). Also drink lots of water like the girl above me said.

if you are doing all that hardwork and still gaining weight, i suggest you go to the doctor and get bloodwork done. women especially are hormonal beings, and you might want to get your thyroid levels checked. there might be some problem that is out of your hands and you want to get it fixed ASAP.

do you know how annoying that is? drinking water is fine and all, but you gotta be constantly going to the bathroom..every hour, get up, go to the washroom. :naraz: people around you think there’s something wrong with you :stuck_out_tongue:

working out should be working... what kind of workout are you doing? if you're working out 4 times a week, switch between cardio and weights. also try pilates... that targets your abdominal core specifically and its very, very good. i lost a lot of weight during pilates. it hurt initially but its a good hurt, if you know what i mean?

also get your thyroid checked. my mom was gaining weight despite watching her diet and it turns out she has hypothyroidism which means her thyroid is slower than normal so she stores more fat or something like that. you have to take pills to compensate for that and she's doing fine now. its a simple blood test that you can get done at your doctors.

Do crunches and reduce your overall bodyfat (by cardio/weights, increasing your metabolism, eating healthy).

Eating healthy, getting your sleep (sleep early, you KNOW!) foods that have more fiber do help as well... enough fiber so you go to the bathroom for number 2 everyday and not once a week like so many people. :D

Yeah, thats the problem these days with internet junkies.

I can’t go to sleep until 3 or 4 AM… then its wake up time at 7 and then I get sleepy at work around lunch time but can’t sleep there so the cycle continues. Not good… got these freaking halkay under my eyes.:bummer::teary1::mad:

Go ‘cold turkey’ on the fried food, meaning non at all, and try to make time for situps or a 15 min jog in the morning. You will be back to normal if not better than how you were before in no time.

smiley- i know...u end up using the bathroom alot...but thats good too since it gives an excuse to get up and get some movement and away from the workstation.
