How to hold on to Power

by Musharraf:

  • Withdraw corruption charges against the very person whom you called the most corrupt in Pakistan
  • First change the constitution so that no one can be PM more than two times, the main reason being the fear of BB and NS, then change the constitution and remove the same amendment when you become desperate to hold onto power and allow people to stand for PM for more than two terms.
  • Announce that all corrupt people will be charged and brought to justice. Than in desperation appoint the most corrupt people to your cabinet (reference the chaudharies)
  • Sack the chief Justice if he asks too many questions about the “disappeared people”
  • Create mayhem and gun down innocent people on the streets of karachi to prove that you are the most powerful
  • attack TV stations and take them off the air if they criticize you.
This guy would sell Pakistan if that is what it takes to keep him in power.

Please feel free to add more.

May Allah protect us from such devils.

Re: How to hold on to Power

well he did sell Pakistan by sending own people to Guantanamo, by allowing US army to attack Afghanistan from PK etc. etc. Don't we get dollars for this.....so-called foreign exchange.

Re: How to hold on to Power

freed media and yet allowed the goons to pound the various media houses and journalists with impunity

Re: How to hold on to Power

engineered a debate about Hudood Ordinance, talked incessantly about women rights, yet was guilty of uttering one of the most insensitive, deplorable, ignominious statements to have ever emereged from such a high office, that of a self-proclaimed enlightened moderate. His gems were:
'women get raped in Pakistan to get visas of other countries...'

Re: How to hold on to Power

major debtors, loan defaulters in his government, in the PML Q. Whatever became of the much touted NAB...

Re: How to hold on to Power

Deal with MQM & PPP

Re: How to hold on to Power

How to hold on to Power by Nawaz Sharif (NS):

  • Destroy each and every institution that you think can have a say in your downfall including Army, Courts, Media etc

  • Shake hand with the lady you have been calling “security risk” when you were at the responsible post of PM

  • Attack supreme court if you think that SC is going to rule against you in any case

  • Divide (supreme court) and rule

  • Before freezing foreign currency accounts, ask your close friends to take money out of the bank at midnight

  • If you think that COAS is thinking of ousting you, hijack his plane and don’t think a second even if that means the death of 100s of civilians on board

  • To increase your ratings, order to handcuff civil servants without any trial and legal prosecution

  • Lure member of parliaments so that they don’t vote against you even if you have to take them all to Murree for days and have MUJRA readily available to them. If some of them still want to vote against you, amend the constitution in 60 seconds so that members are BOUND to vote for you against their free will.

  • and best of all sign a paper with “10 years” written on it thinking that its “actually not 10 years but its 5 years”

This guy would sell Pakistan if that is what it takes to keep him in power.

Please feel free to add more.

May Allah protect us from such devils.

(how to hold on to Power : By BB…coming soon)

Re: How to hold on to Power

  1. whether we support NS or not - exporting him was a very wrong step. Totally against SC.
  2. Keeping opposition leaders in prison without any proper paperwork or FIR.

Re: How to hold on to Power

I see so what we are saying is that because some of the other people in past, did wrong things it is ok that the current incumbent should carry on in the same tradition. Way to go. With thinking like that Paksitan will go far.

Re: How to hold on to Power

First off all the thread is about Musharraf, so you shouldn’t be crying about NS’s abuses here. Secondly please read the bolded part here, it makes me laugh (or should I cry) that you think he signed the papers of his exile and yet you think it was for extension of his rule :rotfl:

Re: How to hold on to Power

ehsan bhai.... can we please announce a "National (or Gupshup) mourning day" and make a sticky thread please?

Re: How to hold on to Power

oops ehsan bhai so you only want to discuss "How to hold on to Power by Musharraf" I though its a general discussion and we are discussing general tactics of holding on to power. Please edit the title so that it reflects the real topic :)

Re: How to hold on to Power

Where does it say that its ONLY about Musharraf ? Title says “How to Hold on to Power” and not “How to hold onto power: by Musharraf” …

He knew this is the only way he can get into power again …go into exile and then try to come back as a leader who “scarified years” for the DARD of QOOM O MULK

Re: How to hold on to Power

It is amazing how we tend to live in the past to justify the wrong doings of the current leader. Shame really. So really what we are saying is that we don't want to improve ourselves just that because our current leader is corrupt and inept and to hide his inefficiencies we will point out the past inefficiencies of the previous leader whether it matters or not. We dont want to improve we just want to protect our current leader by showing that the past leaders were equally bad. So where does this leave Pakistan?

Re: How to hold on to Power

Bhai jaan, there is a difference in "hope for gaining power" as well as "hold on to power", do you agree?

Re: How to hold on to Power

It was mainly supported by US at that time.
The same US, who is controlling PK now-a-days.

Re: How to hold on to Power

Correction: It was mainly supported by US, through BB and NS just like US is doing now a days through Mush

Re: How to hold on to Power

Ehsan Bhai, can you suggest any alternative to Mush? No one wants to live in Past but if all the struggle is JUST TO BRING BACK the culprits of Past, I'll be more than happy with lesser evil.

If you dont have a fresh alternative and you want to bring back one of NS BB QAZI dumbs, its like you are ready to forgive their mistakes but is not ready to forgive Mush's mistakes

Re: How to hold on to Power

bhai jaan, they were already banned by the law of "2 terms", but then greed took over and they were made available as "choices".

Re: How to hold on to Power

It was an attempt to derail the thread by bringing in previous leaders and to show that yes if Mush is bad so were they. My question is this: They are not in power, he is, so why should we trust a devil like him. Answer that. not what happened in the past, they paid their price and are not in power he is and the danger is that his obsession to stay in power might make him compromise the security of Pakistan.
