Because Jesus was alone and had no connection with the Father at the time.
But I thought that Jesus (PBUH) and the Father are one?
In Adam all humankind was tainted as we all stem from him. Sin entered Adams life. God told Adam he would die if he ate from the Tree of Knowledge. The spirit-link between God and mankind "died" or was broken when Adam transgressed.
Yes, we as Muslims also believe that we stem from Adam (PBUH). However, as far as the Islamic belief, Allah says in the Quran that He forgave Adam (PBUH) for his sin:
Then did Satan make them slip from the (Garden) and get them out of the state (of felicity) in which they had been. We said: "Get ye down all (ye people) with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be your dwelling place and your means of livelihood for a time." [size=2]Then learnt Adam from his Lord words of inspiration and his Lord turned toward him; for He is Oft-Returning Most Merciful. (Quran, 2: 36-37)[/size]
