I recently got married and everyones been eating my head about how I’m the only newly wed that hasn’t put on a single pound! infact, I’ve lost weight since getting married weighing in at a whopping 42kg. severely underweight since I’m 5’5. HELP!
advise me on ways to put on weight, what to eat/do etc.
And gain muscle mass. Being (essentially) skinny and weighing 42kgs means you don't have a lot of muscle. Build muscle! DONT gain weight by gaining fat. You DO need fat for your body to work properly, but that is easier to get than gaining muscle mass. Without (strong) muscles you are weak, which is NOT good for you. Lack of muscles means you can hurt your body easily.
So, you have a GOOD chance to eat a LOTTT of proteins and make your muscles stronger.
im 5'3 and i weigh 84 pounds ... people keep telling me to not rush into gaining weight coz well being a woman u end up putting on weight eventually.. anyway my friend advised me to take whey protein, eat chicken and stuff and work out that way u gain weight on the right places.
I am exactly like you. I weigh 93 pounds and my height is 5'6. I am too skinny, you can say a pile of bones (as people say). But I guess I can't do anything about it because it's in my genes. People say being fat is a big curse, I say being too skinny is a big curse.
^ OMG dont say that .. Learn to love urself gurl.. i think only (most) desi people have a habbit of calling us sookhi sarri , hadiyoun ka dhaanchaa and what not.. they even make asumptions that i dont eat enough on purpose to stay like thiss... but really who cares,, ive met goris kalis who say they would do anyting to have a body like me ( umm okay)

I am also too thin.... 5 feet 1 1/2 inch and usually weigh around 83 pounds. And yes... i think it is a curse too because even though society will think its taboo to tell a fat person that they are "fat" ... people seem to have NO PROBLEM telling a thin person that they are a "bag of bones" ... i have had random people come upto ....complete strangers and tell me that I should go see a doctor in regards to my weight! How rude!!! Telling them that my doctor is a doctor and thinks i am fine shuts them up.
My future in laws constantly make a point to make my weight an issue... which is also annoying.
But everyone is right...we have the rest of our lives to gain weight.... even though it is frustrating when hearing the comments and even more frustrating when you try to go shopping. Here in the US..... it is like impossible to find things to fit me since htis country caters to bigger people. An x-small here is like equivalent to a medium in europe. it is so annoying.
But good news is that at times i am able to gain weight.... (if i get sick or it is ramazan..i am also able to loose it quickly and go back in the low 80 pound range). I do everything that others have suggested..... good diet, muscle building excercise
But i also make sure to drink a shake I make for myself once during the day: 1 packet of instant carnation breakfast (i like vanilla flavor), whole milk, a few scoops of icecream, fresh fruit. Blend - tastes good + loads of calories. :)
hello friends, i share the same pain since i am underweight as well and my inlaws and every other person out there wants me to gain weight. everytime , any guests visits my home makes the point that i am getting weaker day by day which is not the case. i do not look unhealthy and take a very balanced diet and alhumdulilah i do not fall sick very often. my dad always say that girls want to be like you and this kind of body is in fashion these days. girls go crazy about being thin they do dieting spend lots of money to reduce weight and luckily you have to do no such thing so cheer up and be happy with your body and i agree to him completely
I dunno, i still think u guys have it better than ppl who are overweight...
and regarding the rude comments....well everybody gets them...it's just jealousy!
women naturally end up gaining weight after they get married, i.e., when they have kids.....it's far far harder to lose weight "naturally"

Exactly, its better than women who just let themselves go after marriage and especially after childbirth. Poor husband gets stuck with a fat wife forever.
As for the OP, I'd recommend light cardio and weight training.
Hmm i don’t think so :khums:. Believe me, i have seen this 38-40kg girl at gym n she looks hmm like a skeleton. No offense but i dont think she must be above 28-30 yrs of age but she looks so old from face :(. And it looks like its easy to put on weight for these girls but its not cuz poor her was put on all kinds of food but she said its so hard for her to take them.
So yah i think being that thin is equally if not more bad cuz atleast most fat people look cute .
p.s I m not thin or fat
Lolz. Well husbands are not that shareef either, they wouldnt let the wife sit in peace if she is fat. Just met this aunty @ my nutrionist clinic n she was quite annoying as was being nosey as to why i came to c the doc cuz she thought i didnt need to. Then she started her dukhi khani about how she use to be so thin (she wasnt really fat when i saw her) and her husband wants her to get to that size after her having had 2-3 kids. Haha, i thought that was kinda cute and sad at the same time cuz the meany husband suggested her to stay on fluids if she really wanted to loose weight and not waste money on these docs. Haha so mean.
I used to be really slim and hated when people used to say 'you're so skinny'. For some reason people don't think comments about been skinny are offensive but if you were to approach an overweight person and say 'you're so fat' that would be rude.
If you want to gain weight buy some of that body building weight gain powder, eat normally but drink 1 milkshake a day make sure you do light exercise also. Your want the weight gain to be slow no more that 1.5-2kg a month in order to minimise stretch marks.
