Now that we have seen 30+ years of death and destruction from these mullahs, it’s time we force them out of every segment of our society and don’t let them in until they become civilized again.
They have done jihad for CIA, they have killed thousands of people and have been used as a justification by western militaries to kill countless people in Muslim countries.
They have made Islam the most hated religion in the world and Pakistan one of the least respected countries.
Do you think it’s possible to do reduce influence of mullah’s ideology in Pakistan? It was quite easy to create the ideology of intolerance and hate and promote it in the 70s and 80s so there must be an equally easy way to undo that. There must be some counter ideology that can be promoted.
have an everyone must go sale on the miltant minded.
I have no issues with religiously inclined, or even those who are then religiously motivated to make a change, Pakistan can use all the help it can get. Lets have them infused with more effort towards other needs like 'real' education, health,
have them focused on building hospitals and providing healthcare to the poor, build real universities and colleges and schools. If hakim Saeed and Edhi can do it, why cant they?
sadly the mullahs are either just purity police or political mouthpieces with the thinking limited to US, Israel, UK, India, .... abay gadho, there is a world beyond that you know.
I'm sure most mullah aren't like that, or at least I hope so.
But, I do think we need more mullahs who are true to Islam. They can help bring Pakistan back to Islam, since we've been brainwashed by western/Indian influence too much.
okay Diwana point taken
so lets call em fake-mullahs (although their leaders prefer the title maulana)
the LeT, SSP, Ji, JUI the lot
now what should be done to curb their influence.

Teach people not to get confused between fake and real ones.
How?
By their actions.
Show people what these fake one do as opposed to what real ones do (more important).
To show that, encourage real ones to come forward and not treat everyone with same label maybe.
We have been focusing on fake ones too much and too long, with very little effects on people to get educated and being unable to see the alternative.
The responsibility is on those who CAN differentiate and are educated. :)
^Thats rather limited......I hate the jamiat douchebags as much as i hated the MSF or PSF or other student political/terror organisations...... Jamiat is a curse on pakistani higher education...no doubt about that.....but the mullah mentality is more to do with basic education IMO
The only solution to get rid of the Mullahs is to promote education and health for the poor.........
Poor people let their kids go to these madrassah because thy can't find a schoool/ afford a school........the madrassah molvi take the kids...feed them, house them, get them treated and provide them "education" ...... this is where the molvis draw their strength from.......
Provision of education and health at grass root levels will solve the problem.........it took 20 years to get things to this messy state.......and it will take as long as that to get rid of it................but only if there were enough saudi riyaals and US $ to fund the education as were spent on establishing the molvi groups..
Those who pretend to be mullahs or those who are real educated mullahs?
Give an example of a "real" mullah who is educated and talks sense and has made any difference in people's lives, and how many people are influenced by them? There is none probably.
The concept of "good" or "bad" mullahs is what confuses people, if there were any good mullah's why would people follow the bad ones? Even if there was a small percentage of molvis who were preaching anything good then Pakistan would not top the lists of most (financially and morally) corrupt, disliked nations on the planet.

Good question.
Answer is:
The very same mullah who you or your friends and family may know but did not come on TV. So I may not be able to give example of 'that particular' person. ;)
Moreover, your question is actually silly sorry to say.
Vast majority of muslims are followers of very same or similar mullah one way or other.
Hence, actually a large majority of muslims (almost all) are benefited by those sensible mullahs.
(If you deny that then you are saying ALL mullahs are evil. And will there be any reason to reason with you further?)

It can't all come down to money. Did it require money to spread the real version of Islam? Did it require any money for people of South Asia to grow out of the primitive backward traditions that were common in this region?

So the responsibility is on the people in Pakistan to limit the influence of the fake-mullahs.
good, I hope they start standing up to lame rhetoric by the political fake-mullahs and their extremist brethren, as well as the closet supporters, not fall into the trap of shia vs sunni, deobandi vs barelvi vs ahl e hadeeth vs whatever divisions have been created.
and on a state level what is the responsibility then? those involved in militant activities executed as traitors and their financial or moral supporters .. open or stealth...tossed in jail? dont you think?
