Seriously though, if you are going to actively look to fall in love, chances are you'll end up with flings that don't last. If you're ok with that, then that's cool. If you are not the fling type, then either let love happen or go the arranged way.

I’m saying that they were in situations where they “happened” to meet someone they like…friends, classmates, colleagues etc.

Hmm err ok, but then what about e-harmony and shadi.com folks..I guess that’s a way of actively looking for love.

it starts with friendship/common workplace/common academia etc u have friends/colleagues/fellow students of the opposite gender of which one of them u start feeling a little strongly about (i.e. Attraction)...you test the waters to check aag dono taraf laggne ko phir rahi hai ya only ur thinking that way and if u get the right response you proceed further...you date for a few months...tell ur parents u may have found someone...(both shud do the same) [datinag and telling the parents is like a simultaneous thing IMO]...and then if u feel like yeah he/she is the one you go ahead and propose and since both ur parents know about this person convincing them shudnt be a problem ...lo and behold u have a love marriage... but yeah its not like ur gonna walk out the door one day tell urself im gonna fall in love today and presto ur in love...it has to happen on its own terms otherwise it isnt love its a calculated step

It is not that easy , if she does not fall back in love then you will have 50 percent success only and your proposal will go nowhere.
