I agree that society’s concept of what is morally acceptable is a sliding scale and relative to both time and place. My moral compass places importance on the method of capital punishment - that’s on me and no one else.
That speaks to a flawed judicial system. The same system that has sentenced innocent men to death for a crime they were convicted of committing based on circumstantial evidence.
I’ll admit ignorance, but I’m curious to know whether Islamic law recognizes insanity as a defence to a crime - does anyone know?
