Re: how to create a religious environment in your home.
I have been there kinda…especially when life deals you a bad hand.
I can’t say I am a good Muslim. I don’t even know what that would mean.
I do think that even if you were to read namaz…the act itself would mean nothing to you. I think you should start attending a tafseer or islamic studies class. You are not going to be required to turn into a mullani overnight. Its not about other peoples’ perceptions either…always remember that. What anyone else says or thinks should be the last thing on your mind. Its about your future…your kids future. And there is only one chance to make it…no re-do’s, no trial and error, nothing. Might as well try as hard as you can.
Religion is about finding that connection with Allah swt…that part of you that needs him and feels him. You have to find it…it doesn’t just come to you. It never has. And never will. Hidayat is literally guidance. Guidance that’s given when you’re on a certain path. If you don’t make the effort of even looking…how is He to guide you? When you’re going somewhere…you have to actually make it to the road before your GPS starts to work. GPS will find your location and tell you where to go next.
Get it?
