Like I mentioned before, Jf-17s + F-16s + AWACS is enough for a minimum deterrence. We do not like to indulge in arms race, unlike our neighbours, even when things are calm.
India, out of the total 190 Su-30 MKI’s it has ordered, has recieved around… I dunno.. 60? 70?
The delivery of these 77 F-16s will take appr. 2years to complete, and this is the figure given by Lockheed Martin Co. Now, that its delayed, it may take upto 4-6yrs.
Pak-Fa is still on the drawing boards, just like I have my own fantasy plane on a drawing board. Pak-Fa is nothing but a wet-dream right now. You’ve not even made the first prototype, and you are claiming that it will be ready and inducted into the IAF by around 2010… really shows your little knowledge of defence. Pak-Fa hasn’t even reached the wind-tunnel stage. It is only a wet-dream right now. No major tests have been carried out.
& please, don’t bring JSF into this. That is just another wet-dream. JSF’s have not even been offered to India. There are around a dozen or more countries participating in the JSF program, and after America inducts its 300 or so JSF’s which will take atleast 5years, Britain will be the next in line which will take a few years, followed by another counrty which will take a few years, followed by another country which will take a few more years, followed by another country… & in the end, when all of the participating partners have recieved their shares and their supply, if JSF is offered to India, India may buy it. But its common sense, that that wouldn’t happen atleast until year 2020. So please cut the crap, and stop assuming that you will have it inducted into your AF in 5-6years.
