About meaning of the verb “jinn”.. it is derived from the root “junna”, which means hidden.. So all things that are hidden from us are Jinn..
But Quran also talks about Jinns as being mighty..
The jinn mentioned in the Holy Quran are certainly not the genii of fairy tales or what people usually imagine them to be.
It is applied to leaders, as contrasted with the ordinary public, and to people of foreign lands. For instance, the Quran says:
“O assembly of jinn and men, did there not come to you messengers from among you. . .” (6:131).

Brother, Hudhud is a migratory bird.. which follows a fixed pattern and does not fly long distances to the unknown parts unnecessarily.. infact its unable to make long journeys..
The tradition among the people living in Arabian lands is that many tribes can have and do have names of animals.. like Banu Asad, Banu Kalb.. similarly Namal (ants) was also a weak tribe..
Hudhud was well versed with the religious philosophy and state affairs.. birds can't be so philosphical to comment on the spiritual state of people.. they might be able to understand the weather changes and danger but not the matters of faith..

What does the following Ayah tell us if Jinn means HUMANS/LEADERS/UN-SEEN......

Allah's Apostle said, "A Jinn snatches that true word and pours it into the ear of his friend (the foreteller) (as one puts something into a bottle). The foreteller then mixes with that word one hundred lies."
