Ashy I see what you are saying BUT I still feel that the girls should express her views about things that are important to her. All the compromise and flexibility is not just for the girl to do. This is not a business transaction therefore both parties should be open and make it clear what they want and how much they are willing or able to compromise.

On a different note I sometimes I wonder if the most crazy MILs have become that way due to years of pent up frustrations at always having to be the one to compromise and/or endure.. I would imagine always having to be the one who makes all the sacrifices like in the old days of desi husband + wife prob could mess your head up quite a bit..
