I asked one Pakistani candidate, ‘what is your manifesto?’, only to be hear this shameless reply:
‘Umm… I am jobless nowadays… I’ve heard that the councilors have handsome remuneration, so I am trying my luck there…’
These candidates include a Pakistani grocery store owner of my area as well. The lies on his website were traced and duly rebuked by his Canadian rivals – what a defamation of our country.
Re: How Pakistani candidates embarrass us in Canadian polls
What happened to their hair? The two winners look cool, but a little hair wouldn’t hurt. This is coming from a guy who sports a buzz himself. So yeah, just let it grow a little.
Re: How Pakistani candidates embarrass us in Canadian polls
It is obvious the thread is opened by a Canadian resident or citizen of Pakistani background.
The thread itself is an example of what the article said in DAWN written by another Canadian of most likely Pakistani Background.
“One of the Pakistani voters told me that he doesn’t vote for Pakistani candidates because they are more often than not busy in pulling each others’ legs.”
Re: How Pakistani candidates embarrass us in Canadian polls
Here is a comment that makes some sense of it all.
“This is an absurd rant. There are a number of reason on why the Pakistani candidates didn’t win. Among them, a backlash due to the Ottawa shootings is also a factor. I personally know many many Pakistani candidates who have worked in the community for years and genuinely want to make a difference. Holding the poster of one person as a display of being out of touch from the community is rather banal.”
Re: How Pakistani candidates embarrass us in Canadian polls
could be in some areas but not true in the Mississauga candidates…fortunately their kids have moved on and are living very different lives…almost showing embarrassment at the antics of their fathers…
it was sad to see these desi candidates (the two men that were running for mayor specifically) take up valuable time at Eid namaz only to tell us that they should be voted in because there is a street named after them in the city (what he carefully omitted was that he’s the reason Mississauga no longer has a Pakistan Day celebration funded by the gov’t) or that as Pakistanis we have an obligation to vote for our own…
Re: How Pakistani candidates embarrass us in Canadian polls
And you found online article from DAWN?
Really?
My friend DAWN is highjacked by lunatics.
If someone wants to say negative about a very high priced shoes someone else wearing, all that person has to say " Oh look at the dirt sticking on the soles of these shoes".
DAWN brings anti-Pakistani articles periodically and written by the same so called educated and “souls on sell” kind of “writers”,… who are like of the same kind idiots and ‘elites’ from Pakistan who loved bashing Pakistan and Pakistanis while sitting in their comfortable sofa, smoking cigar, wearing three piece suit and thinking they walk above the ground.
Re: How Pakistani candidates embarrass us in Canadian polls
Yes we should definitely pretend these issues don’t exist in Pakistan, rather than acknowledging the ptoblems.
And those who dare to actually write about the problems in pak society, are a bunch of cowardly degenerates. What a bunch of filthy animals, daring to actually acknowledge the problems that are prevalent in Pak.
If we pretend they don’t exist, the problems will magically vanish by themselves. And any problem that we don’t face ourself, is none of our concern.
